It's Cinqo de Mayo week at the Upstate and we are Taking It Seriously™️. We’re celebrating Mexican and Chicano heritage all week this week with drink specials, a wild Mexican influenced Upstate menu and Mexican Punk on the aux. Viva Mexico, baby.

Tuesday May 12th marks the beginning of a new project: C U Next TuesGay. A nod to 537 Farmington’s roots as a long standing ally in the q***r community with an eye to future community building at the Upstate Lounge. We’ve been planning this since November and are so psyched to formally and finally announce. We’ve got a whole slew of themes and guest bartenders coming through each week. It’s gonna be a big ol’ party.

The Upstate Lounge & Cafe, a new joint opening in the former Tisane space on Farmington Ave in Hartford, is hiring for all full and part-time positions including:

-Bartenders
-Service Staff Manager
-Food Service Staff/Servers
-Kitchen Manager
-Line & Prep Cooks
-Dishwasher

The Upstate will be a fun, staff driven and I'm trusting you to know how to do what you do best. We're starting from scratch here so it'll be an adventure. First and foremost, the Upstate is a dive bar with an emphasis on well executed food, drinks and service. We'll be serving Upstate NY regional food which is super fun and delicious to learn about. Most importantly, the theme is loosely "Upstate", at the end of the day, the bar is a neighborhood dive emphasizing community.
