Artists Nina Romanenko, Ruth George, Cece Borjeson, Stan Sullivan, and Dave Fry will perform renditions of Kent’s songs.
Kent Aldrich is a favorite CT grass roots singer, songwriter, guitarist, painter and instructor. His original songs draw from old blues masters as well as folk and contemporary artists. He has traveled Europe and his experiences and observations have informed much of his songwriting.
Kent has a vast repertoire of songs. While he hopes to record many more of his tunes – the CD he recorded some time ago – was a compilation of songs that were most requested in his live shows for over a period of 10 years – hence – the title: “Thanks For Asking”. All of the tunes on this CD have been covered live as well as on several CDs of other artists.
His tunes appeal to all ages – many with bittersweet and romantic lyrics in songs that have become local anthems like – “Empty”, “That Old Moon”, “Pictures and Memories”, “Good Love Gone Bad” and “Just One Line”. Well crafted tunes like “Nobody Leaves East Hampton” uses creative word usage and has been an audience favorite. The lyrics to “Giants” are fun and silly for kids or adults – yet holds hidden meaning with it’s symbolic references. His witty, topical song – “Elvis & Me” – has left folks, laughing and “A be-bop a lu-bopp’in”.
