The tree went in on April 14th. Below is a pic of the lake that morning. The winner of Ice Out as announced yesterday at the Alpine was Cindy Thoenes who picked several April dates in a row. Congrats Cindy! To all who participated in the 50/50 raffle yesterday, thank you! Congrats to raffle winner Betty Grogan.

The sun is going down, the lights went on, and the deadline for ice out picks is fast approaching. Mail in guesses need to be received by Monday 3/16 and in person ticket sales (at the Alpine) will cease as of Sunday 3/22. Today, the ice out here was 22 inches thick. Yes, we’re getting more snow this weekend, but this is Wisconsin so date of ice out is truly a crap shoot. Players place your bets.

Blastomycosis in dogs is a serious, often fatal systemic fungal infection caused by Blastomyces dermatitidis, usually contracted by inhaling spores from damp soil, wood, or near water. It is not new to Oneida County but a 5 y/o dog that uses the Rhinelander dog park recently died from it. Please be aware of the possibility of this infection if your dog starts acting sick, since timely intervention is key.
