Many have asked, "What does Sans Souci mean?" It simply means "without care", or "carefree". In other words, when you come to Sans Souci, leave your troubles behind. Relax and enjoy the view of the water, the boats, and all that nature has to offer. Sam and Millie Pauley are the proprietors; they purchased the bar in June of 1981. In the early 1800s it was a port of call for mail, food deliveries,

and commerce between the Indians and Island inhabitants. Later it became an ice cream parlor. Then, in the 1900s, it was a tavern. We are delighted that you came to visit us today, and hope that you have a memorable experience with us.
