I know what you are thinking? Why would anyone have a sandwich with spaghetti and why is the pasta green? One word - PESTO! Made from our own basil grown in the beer garden, this green goo turns left over spaghetti noodles into a meal popping with freshness and who would have thunk how good it is on a turkey sandwich.. Of course it doesn't hurt that the turkey breast was brined for 24 hrs, then baked and wrapped 24 hrs before slicing. It is already delicious with just the usual accompaniment,. but then add fresh pesto to it and amazing is not too strong a word., especially with a few vinegar cucumbers. I know pesto is great on anything with tomatoes like in red sauce or on flatbread pizza, but I really have no idea what else pesto is good on but I plan to find out as long as the basil keeps growing.

It's Birdy Thursd'y again and we went with the Cornish Hens again. We started to grill some leg quarters (a personal favorite) but those little birds were just so great last week, we figured we would hold off on the quarters til we got it out of our system (if that ever occurs). So along with wings, tenders, wraps, and turkey breast sandwich, you also have Cornish Game Hens to choose from. If you have Alpha Gal concerns, please discuss them with our bartender. We want to be as Alpha Gal friendly as possible, but it is pretty tough even for one evening a week. Can't imagine how hard it is living with it full time.

After much discussion, we decided to go to the grill with our Cornish Hens. Wrapped in foil, seasoned and lightly sauced, they came out tender, juicy, and flavorful. We have seven whole birds for sale for $10 each tonight on Birdy Thursd'y along with tenders, wraps, wings, and turkey breast sandwiches.

What's a bar and grill known for their killer burgers to do when their Thursday night bartender/cook is diagnosed with Alpha-Gal? Let her know that you've got her back and hope our customers understand why we will not have red meat or cooked cheese after 5 pm on Thursdays. Besides, we've got killer chicken too. When the summer heat hits, sometimes only a sandwich will do. But why go with just an ordinary sandwich when you have a restaurant available? I went with a house brined, baked, and sliced turkey breast with swiss, tomato, lettuce, and a quick sandwich sauce on wheat toast accompanied by homemade potato chips, vinegar cucumbers, and fire and ice pickles. This was not slap a piece of bologna on bread and call it a sandwich...this was a meal. Anyone who thinks turkey breast is dry and tough has never brined one and cooked it correctly. As soon as our garden tomatoes are picked, this sandwich will be perfection. There is a little turkey left. Come see if you can talk the cook into making you a great sandwich.

What do you do when you have left over spaghetti noodles after Spaghetti Wednesday? Find yourself some vegetables and a fearless bartender and make Garlic Parmesan Pasta with Zucchini and Tomatoes (and a little chicken, just because). She even made an extra big garlic knot to go with it. Thanks Amy, it was delicious.
