235+ years later… and people are STILL meeting at The Nott. 🍻
The Olde Nottingham Tavern made the list of the 25 Oldest Restaurants in New Jersey, and it got us digging into just how much history is inside these walls.
The building dates back to around 1790, when it was a hotel for travelers passing through Hamilton Square.
There was a fireplace to warm up by, space for horses and carriages, and even a well inside the basement for water during the winter.
And our favorite plot twist?
At one point, The Nott was a temperance house.
Yep… NO ALCOHOL. 😂🍺
Try explaining that to the Friday night crowd.
More than two centuries later, people are still coming through these doors and adding their own stories to The Nott’s history.
