Getting things ready for some brewing tomorrow. Wanted to make sure I had some Dyngus day beers to help me along. Tomorrow we will be brewing a Janet’s Brown. It’s been on my to-brew list for over a year or so. I just happen to have all the ingredients without having to run out anywhere. Cheers!

For those who listen to the Basic Brewing Radio podcast, Jim Spenser has been doing a series hopstand experiments. This inspired me to try my own. Instead of three different hops, I only went with two. Recipe is 3 quarts of water, 1 pound light DME and the hops vary based on alpha . Batch 1 was 1 ounce of Motueka @ 5.6 alpha and batch 2 was .5 ounces of Mosaic. Heat DME up to point just before boil, kill the heat and add the hops. Let stand for 30 minutes. Used about 1/4 of a packet of US-05 for each batch. Looking forward to tasting the results.
