This is a post we really didn’t want to make…
After 8+ years, we have decided to close our doors. It wasn’t an easy decision, but we feel it’s the best for us.
From day one, the support was there. A bunch of guys home brewing in a garage decided to take a shot and open a business. We landed at 214 Davis Road in Magnolia New Jersey. If you were there you knew the charm. The fine Italian leather sofas and marble floors were unexpected find in the back of some old dingy warehouse surrounded by barbed wire. Haha. There wasn’t any leather or marble, but the charm was certainly there. A 1000 square foot, cinder block room with concrete floors, vaulted ceiling and not much else. We made that space into a spot where strangers became friends and family. Kids, dogs, mothers and fathers, aunts and uncles, everyone joined us and supported us to make a dream a reality. Going to the restroom in most places is mostly uneventful…not at Lunacy! Walking through the door (to what people assumed was a sink and toilet on the other side) opened up to a 20,000 square foot warehouse with machines and envelopes everywhere. Not only did you have to walk through the warehouse, you were most likely escorted through by one of our favorite guys on the planet, Big Ed. One of the kindest, funniest and warmest guys you will ever meet. Some thought it was odd (we kind of did too at first) but it became a thing…”the walk to the bathroom!”
After roughly 4 years we decided we wanted to expand production. The thought was to stay in Magnolia, but things didn’t work out there so we started our next chapter at 1500 Kings Highway in Haddon Heights. A new location, new equipment with a very similar vibe and atmosphere. (Without the long walk to the bathroom). We ran into many hiccups that prevented us from expanding the production side of the business. Along with those obstacles were the pandemic, brewery restrictions and other problems that led to our decision to close our doors.
We have hosted birthday celebrations for all ages, anniversaries, engagements, wedding and baby showers pre and post wedding celebrations, a divorce party, and a Celebration of Life party.
Yoga, crafts, vinyl Saturdays, trivia, open mics and even a record release party. You have helped us celebrate our anniversary parties. We’ve had Santa, bag pipes, Darth Vader and Princess Leia. comedy shows, fantasy draft parties and more.
We have embraced you the way you embraced us. We have been invited to parties, invited to weddings and “crashed” another one. We attended a funeral for fellow brewer. We have met some of the best people over the last several years that we are lucky enough to now call friends.
We have to thank our amazing staff (past and present) that have helped us. We cant list everybody, but you know who you are, and we appreciate you more than you will ever know.
We will miss brewing beer, we will miss hanging out and talking with you. We will miss the others in the industry that were always there to help when we needed it.
Our last day will be Saturday 9/16 and it will be a celebration with live music and friends and family both old and new! We all hope to see you here that day or days leading up to the finale! Last call!!!
Come out and say hello (not goodbye).
We love you all. 🍻
