Since a certain Guerneville locals page seems to want to censor the questions raised about the closure of The Treehouse Lounge and its "owner", (if you want to call him that), we've decided to repost the response here instead. So feel free to continue the conversation here.
To answer the question of why The Treehouse Lounge closed is complex. In short, The Treehouse Lounge ultimately came to a close for a list of actions committed by the "owner". These actions include but are not limited to --- Refusing to pay the bills of the business. Refusing to pay the rent on the business. Refusing to pay most of his employees. Theft of tips from employees. Theft of physical and intellectual property of customers and employees. Buying and selling illegal liquor. Buying and selling untaxed liquor. Multiple health code violations on the establishment. Personally drinking and freely giving away liquor products to build his clout. Refusing to pay taxes on the business. Refusing to pay or compensate any of the people who actually worked on the physical construction of the bar. Refusing to pay workers compensation. Bank and check fraud. Personal open drug dealing and drug abuse in plain site during business hours, as well as tipping off his competition to law enforcement which resulted in the arrest of many people who are beloved and respected in the community. Drugging and spiking the drinks of unsuspecting customers and employees, both female and male. Unwarranted sexual assault and harassment of employees, both female and male. Hosting fundraisers and events for causes and then pocketing all the money. Getting pulled over for drunk driving and substances (x2) while on probation. Refusing to show up for the many many court dates that pertain to the long list of legal action that has been taken out on him over the course of a year and a half surrounding many of the things previously listed. And this isn't even the begining.
Most of this is publicly accessible information that is available through the Sonoma County Clerk Recorder Assessor Office, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office, as well as other online sources. And we encourage you to seek this information out through the respected administration offices rather than just taking our word for it.
This man claims to have built The Treehouse Lounge himself, however in reality it was the time and labor of many other good people in the community that built and ran that establishment who were promised compensation that they never saw. Instead these people were used and abused in a multitude of ways. And when these people decided to quit or cut ties with him for his terrible behavior, the "owner" would proceed to try and damage the reputations of these people in the community by bad mouthing and accusing them of all the things that he himself was and still is actually doing. (I.E. theft, drug abuse, and the aforementioned actions listed above.)
For these reasons and more, we want the community to be aware of the dangers of this individual.
Feel free to share and repost to help the community stay clear of the harm that this man causes. In addition, any victims who would like to openly or anonymously share their experiences of the individual during his short tenure at The Treehouse Lounge is welcome to post publicly or message privately.
There are still a number of ongoing investigations by an array of law enforcement agencies into this individual, as well as multiple lawsuits against this man for his actions.
