The rumors are true...👀
The Airport Inn now takes credit cards!!🙌💳

For months we've heard:

"Do you take cards yet?"
"When are the credit cards coming?"
"Seriously, still cash only?"

Well, the day has finally arrived.

After looking at a few different systems, listening to a lot of sales pitches, and a lot of slick talk from national big names, we decided to keep it local and partner with Aaron Ranka and the Clover team.

This felt like us. Local friends. Local support. People who answer the phone when you call.


We officially went live today, so if things take a little longer than usual, bear with us. We just upgraded our system from a Cessna to a G6🤣✈️, and everyone's learning where the switches are. We'll be navigating it like pros before long.

A huge thank you to Aaron Ranka and his team for helping make the transition smooth, our staff for embracing another change, and all of you for your patience while we continue bringing this old place into a new chapter.

We're down to the final approach.🍕🍕

Tomorrow at 10 PM, the half-off pizza coupon from the Grosse Ile Grand is history.

So dig through that stack of mail, grab one at a location around GI, find the paper, clip the coupon (yes, we're still doing it old school😉), and bring it in.

Grab a pizza. Grab a beer. Grab a burger, wrap, wings, or whatever sounds good while you're here. The kitchen is humming, the pizza ovens are fired up, the drinks are cold, and Island Fest weekend is the perfect excuse to head this way.🌴🍺

Heading to the festival? Stop in before.
Wrapping up your night? Stop in after.

⚠️ ATTENTION PASSENGERS⚠️

Island Fest weekend is officially cleared for takeoff.

The Township, Island Fest committee, volunteers, vendors, and countless people behind the scenes have worked hard to put together an awesome weekend for the Island. Get out there, support them, and let's have some fun. 🙌

As for us? Our crew will be putting in some overtime too.

We'll be here Friday and Saturday from 11am-2am, serving up cold beer, great drinks, and good food - stop in before the festivities, and we'll be here keeping the fun going after the festival winds down.

📢A few quick notes from the control tower:

👉Food closes at 9pm Friday & Saturday
👉 No guests under 21 after 9pm
👉Yes, we'll be checking IDs at the gate
👉 We're still cash only, but we do have an ATM on site

Stop in for lunch. Grab dinner before heading to the festivities. Have a drink or two. And if you're still looking for a place to land after the festivities wrap up, we'll be here!

Happy National Hamburger Day from your favorite 🍔✈️

You know we take burgers pretty seriously around here. Fresh beef from Eastern Market. Custom buns from GI Bakery. Crisp lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles… then comes the important part...

Cheese? Bacon? Jalapeños? Green olives? Keep it classic or create your own flight plan.

Sure, the burger special gets a lot of attention. And the pizza speaks for itself.🍕✈️

But don’t sleep on the rest of our menu.

Big fresh salads, loaded wraps, crispy wings, fries, awesome subs, sandwiches, loaded brisket egg rolls, onion rings, poppers… honestly the hardest part of coming to the API is deciding what you’re cleared for.😂

Some flights land on pizza. Some taxi straight to wings and fries. Whatever runway you choose, your stomach is leaving happy.🍕🥪🌭

As much as we’d love to be open celebrating Memorial Day weekend with all of you, we have some plumbing work that requires the water to be shut off, so the API will be closed Sunday & Monday.

We figured this would also be the perfect time to let our hard working crew enjoy the holiday with their families too ✈️🍻

We know it’s inconvenient and trust us… we hate closing on you. We’re hoping this is the last of the major repairs for a while.

BUT… we’re open until 2am tonight, so come grab a pizza, a cold beer, and have a great time with us🍕🍺

And while we’re closed, there’s still plenty of great stuff happening around GI. Stop by Grosse Ile Pet & Garden Center for gorgeous flowers for your garden (and maybe a few treats for the pets), swing through Grosse Ile Hardware because they have everything you need for your weekend project and their beverage selection is elite, fill your belly at Galindo's Authentic Mexican or Lloyd's, or hit The East End Cafe for a coffee, pastry or sandwich.

Honestly… just get out, support local, and enjoy the weekend ❤️ Tell ‘em the API sent you✈️🍺

Flight update from the control tower✈️🍕

We know it’s been a lot lately. Repairs, unexpected staff medical emergencies… and now another bump in the runway this week with another crew member with an emergency situation. Trust us, nobody is more frustrated than we are. If you know API, you know consistency and taking care of people is one of our top priorities.🫶

But when it comes to our crew, their health comes first. Always.

Sure, we could shut the hangar down completely… but that’s just not really how we want to do things around here. We still want to serve you, even if today’s flight plan looks a little different.

So here’s the update:
🍕 Pizza is taking off early, it's fired up and ready
🐟 Walleye Friday is ON
🌭 Hot dogs, wings, fried food, soup and more ready for boarding
🍔Burgers are cookin'
🍺 Beer is cold as ever

Just no grill until 6:30pm when the full kitchen reopens.

Honestly, it’s unfortunate this all decided to happen in the same week… but some turbulence is just out of our control. We appreciate everyone who’s rolled with it, checked in on our staff, and continued supporting us through it all.

Hopefully we’ll still see you for a pizza, a coney, some walleye, maybe some wings and a cold drink while we get everything fully back in the air. Stay tuned here, we'll keep you updated if anything changes.

So the API crew is extending kitchen hours for the summer... Effective Immediately:

🍕 Sunday–Thursday
Kitchen + Pizza until 10PM

🍔 Friday & Saturday
Kitchen + Pizza until 11PM

🍻Bar hours stay the same as always-
👉 Weekdays til Close.
What does that mean??
Officially “close.”
Unofficially…we are for sure here until 11pm BUT... if you’re here, we’re here.😎 (If you know you’re heading in later, just give us a call.)
👉 Fridays & Saturdays until 2AM always.
