Farmers Market of Gretna is such a cool part of our cute little downtown! I hope one day I will be open on this street to support such a wonderful community tradition!

What makes Gretna... Gretna?

As I was reading through the city's 2040 Comprehensive Plan, one sentence kept standing out to me:

"...𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐧𝐚, 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐧𝐚."

So, I have been thinking...

What are those qualities?

To me, it's not just our downtown buildings.

It's the people.

It's longtime residents who choose to invest their time, talents, and resources right here in the community they love.

It's small business owners who know their customers by name.

It's neighbors who support local restaurants, shops, schools, churches, nonprofits, and one another.

I've been fortunate to call Gretna home for many years. My daughters have grown up here and attend school here. I've built two small businesses here, attended church here, volunteered alongside incredible organizations, and have always tried to support the people and businesses that make our community so special.

That's what makes Gretna... Gretna.

When I envisioned The Greyson, it was never just about renovating a building.

It was about making an investment in the community that has given so much to my family.

Because preserving what makes Gretna special isn't only about protecting our history.

It's also about continuing to invest in the people, places, and experiences that will define our future.

What makes Gretna feel like home to you?

Why this building? Why downtown Gretna?

Because this building already holds so many memories.

Like so many Gretna families, ours has spent hours at the Gretna Children's Library. We checked out stacks of books, discovered new favorite stories, and watched our girls fall in love with reading.

Some of our sweetest memories happened within those walls.

So when I looked at the library, I saw possibility.

I saw a place that has been bringing people together for years—and a chance to continue that legacy in a new way.

I didn't want to do this just anywhere.

I wanted this building.

On this street.

In this downtown.

Not because it was simply available, but because I believe places with history deserve thoughtful new chapters.

The Greyson is imagined as a place where new memories can be made—celebrations with family, gatherings with friends, nonprofit events, business meetings, w**e tastings, chef-inspired dinners, and experiences that bring people together while supporting the wonderful businesses that already call downtown Gretna home.

Because that's what this building has always been about.

Bringing people together.

The way people gather may change over time, but the heart of a community never should. 🐉 💚

Welcome to The Greyson!

This page isn't just about a building.

It's about a vision for downtown Gretna.

As a longtime Gretna resident and small business owner, I've spent years investing in organizations, businesses, and people throughout our community. When I began imagining The Greyson, I wasn't simply thinking about another venue—I was thinking about how one thoughtfully designed gathering space could help strengthen the heart of downtown.

The Greyson is envisioned as a boutique gathering place where people could celebrate milestones, host business meetings, support nonprofits, enjoy curated experiences, and simply spend time together.

Most importantly, it is designed to complement the incredible businesses already serving our community by bringing more people downtown and encouraging them to explore everything Gretna has to offer.

Over the coming weeks, I'll be sharing the inspiration behind The Greyson, the ideas that shaped it, and how I believe projects like this can help support Gretna's long-term vision.
