It's a rainy Sunday. We need the moisture. Mondays ride may not be dusty this week.

Today Shelly and I head out to support the Lewis County Ducks Unlimited gun bash at Three Willows in Lyons falls. This is our second year not hosting the gala. I miss the attention but it sure is a lot of work. The event sold out. Wish me luck... I don't need anything but, it sure is fun winning.

Chicken and biscuits, Yankee pot roast....pizzas, wings...a rainy day is a great day for food. Monday we ride at nine. It's going to be a long one. I hope you can join us.

I finished up my stuff, met JoAnn in Lowville, now it's time for us to make an appearance at this wonderful fundraiser.

I love you all, mean it.

So much for a crappy weekend. The beautiful days keep rolling in. Today looks like Northern New York summer season is in full bloom.

Our friends Cherie and Kenny are getting married today and its a perfect day for them. Congratulations guys. I hope the two of you remain happy for many years to come.

Matt Grainger packed the house last night with his many talents. I'm glad I got to say hello before I ran home with my tail between my legs. My late to bed, early to rise tent trip really manifested into holy crap, i'm too old to be out tonight in a hurry. I slept like a baby last night...except the filling my diaper and wetting the bed part...

Mike Shaw is on the high stage tonight...music starts about seven.

A few years back, when I was still drinking... heavy, I was invited to a Christmas party in New Hartford...Sorry Bullock... the house had a dozen bathrooms. The party was at Christmas time...they had the little Hershey kisses in the multicolored wrappers out for the guest. The more I drank as the night went on the funnier I thought it would be if I unwrapped those kisses and stuck one to the back of each toilet bowl. I dont know if they knew it was me but, I haven't been invited back so... I'm joking. Bobby has a great sense of humor, I hope he used that trick himself. My point is, my hosts were safe this trip. I may still find things funny in my head, I just dont have the alcohol to egg me on and follow through with it. Which brings me to the point that, yes I deserve it, but please stop throwing your gum and ni****ne pouches in the urinal. Unlike the chocolate kisses, gum and ni****ne pouches dont melt when they are flushed...they stick to the drain entrance and clog. If your doing it, please stop. If you think its funny, it's not. If you are doing it to be an as***le, go someplace else. I'm sick of reaching up the drain every week to clean them out. There's is a sign to remind you, as well as a garbage can being right there. Thank you...

The spring captain and crew golf tournament is at the Brantingham Golf Club today. There's a poker run too. Things could get very busy. Please be safe out there.

I love you all, mean it.

A real quick turnaround for my trip to the BMW rally in Vermont.

It was blistering hot for our ride to a small lake just North of Burlington. We went through Ticonderoga at about one when the sun was at its peak. It was far to warm for a photo op...you'll just have to trust me that the fort is still standing...and that I was near it. We went over the lake Champlain by bridge...a much less impressive bridge than I had anticipated. We must have been close to the tip or in a narrows? The people in Vermont are very friendly. We stopped for lunch along the way and ran into some CoachLight snowmobile people...that's always cool. A few hours from home and seeing someone familiar... the three of us met up with another six guys at Kevin Ryan's good friend Kim's house. We went to a Vermonts version of a Mexican brew pub. The Tacos were good and so was the root beer. They had live local entertainment and as nice as the people were, the entertainment in no way was as good as our live local musicians. (Matt Grainger tonight...Mike Shaw Saturday). We got back after dark and decided that was a good time to set up tents...(I was the sober one, and the least handy at tent setting upping) I actually slept in a tent comfortably and happily all night...well until four this morning...most of the night. I rode home solo at four thirty and was back home by eight this morning...I made very good time. There must have been shortcuts. I got to see the sun rise over lake Champlain...I got to breathe the most glorious pine scent on Blue Mountain Ridge road...I didnt hit any of the turkeys or the deer staring me down in the middle of the road...and I survived the rain storm going through Old forge. It is truly a glorious day.

Monday Dan Eickmeier is planning on taking us for the next section of ADKBDR. It's going to be a long one. Six and a half hours of seat time...plus lunch, gas stops every hundred or so miles, and such. I think he has it at a two hundred mile day?. We're leaving from the CoachLight at nine.

The pollen is horrible in the hamlet today. I'll bet it doesn't improve too much over the next couple of weeks. The food and drinks are really good to compensate. Friday fish fry, pizzas and wings, prime rib...we have one of my favorite things...French Strawberry Pie with real whipped cream.

Tomorrow we wish Kenny and Shari a splendid day for their wedding. Sunday is that fabulous Duck's Unlimited gun Bash down at the Three Willows...it got too busy for us here... we didn't have enough space. Three Willows did a grand job last year.

Next Saturday is the Grand Bash of Alex and Sam. Let me know if you plan on joining in the festivities. Patty Stanford and her band are playing at two...get to polishing your dancing shoes... seven pm brings the second band of the day Rock Island. Plan your day accordingly and pace yourself.

I love you all, mean it.

I slept in a tent by a small lake last night. Nine of us stayed at Kevin Ryan's good friend Kim's house and we went for dinner at Vermonts version of a Mexican brew pub. The pollen is horrible in the hamlet of Brantingham. I don't expect it to be better for any time soon. The food up here on the hill is worth it though. Especially here...Matt Grainger is here tonight, Mike Shaw hits the high stage Saturday.

If you want to join me for Mondays ride, Dan Eickmeier is guiding us on the next section of the ADKBDR. Its gonna be a long one...six plus hours of seat time plus gas stops and lunch. He has gas stops plannned often for the small bikes. Dan is a great planner. Please join us, we leave from the parking lot at nine.

I love you all, mean it.

Its what some call thirsty Thursday. An on and off rainy day perfect to prime your pump for the weekend.

Matt Grainger is here Friday night for a spectacular show. Be sure to ask him about his criminal under world of driving with a ... just one of two... license plate light out.

Mike Shaw hits the high stage Saturday night. Mike is back in the music business and right full of vim and vigor... as well as some Genesee lights.

Im up early to get as much as I can done before my sleep over in Vermont? At the big BMW rally that I'm not going to. Today's adventure is truly what you would call "along for the ride". I actually hope to be back before noon tomorrow.

Im hoping the rain comes in waves and im ten toes ahead of it... both ways. I hope you are too.

I love you all, mean it.

Wednesday...wings are 10 bucks a pound.

It looks like it may not be a very nice weather day in the county of Lewis. The weather we had yesterday would be hard to compete with any day. Our lake time was cut short for equipment failure. Its OK though...after a quick 180 mile bike ride, it didn't matter if I took my nap on a boat or a couch.

Today we shop. I also need to pick up Kevin at the airport again. Its only been a couple of weeks and Im excited to have an overnight guest again. After I decided to go with him on motorcycle to the BMW rally the weather report came out. Im rethinking riding in the rain for two days.

Matt Grainger is here Friday night, Mike Shaw hits the high stage Saturday night.

I love you all, mean it.

It looks like a great chance to hit the lake today. High eighties and sunshine... plus I've been invited out on a boat. If anyone should see a bone white guy turning into lobster boy, toss him some sun screen.

Yesterday was splendid. We did some 'mostly road' riding through the Adirondack village of Old Forge and surrounding lakes then got back into what a BDR should be when we headed out to Big Moose and Stillwater. The Old Dorge portion just made .e feel like a gawking tourist caught in a parade. Once we got back out of civilization and into the woods everything was great. The folks that made the BDR map for the ADK really missed out on some great dirt roads on the other side of Harrisville so we went on our usual route that way. It was perfect for riding. No dust.

Im heading out now for my two wheeled therapy. I'll be back early so I don't miss the boat .

Seven of us left at 9am. The trail and weather were both perfect for a ride. We took the Moose river road to 28 and did the old forge tour...lots of roads. Then Big moose, Stillwater, Belfort...over the mountain to Harrisville and the back roads and byways to Mary's dairy... we came back home Chase lake way to VanArnem road...about a hundred and eighty miles?

Tomorrow is a bit of a road day. I have to see Yuschak do wheelies on his new BMW...

I Love you all, mean it.

A muggy morning sure turned into a frigid afternoon in a hurry. I must say...we sure could use the rain. I just hope it doesn't snow.

I got out early to mash potatoes...well I put them on the stove. We have chicken and biscuits plus Sunday Roast. I made the right decision on taking the truck to town instead of a bike...brrrr.

Shelly and I had our first date night in probably ten years. We jeeped our way through confusion flats and down the Erie Canal road all the way to Belfort. My good buddy Mike Shaw was the entertainer there. We had some appetizers, a couple of iced teas and cocktails, the come back home to the CoachLight through a driving rain and wind storm. My good buddy Gabe the Fairlynewfather Shepherd was doing a fantastic job on the high stage. I stayed out until 930...crazy right? Date night away from this bar... hmm.

Monday motorcycle madness will start at 9 am tomorrow. Were heading out to another section of this new ADKBDR. CoachLight parking lot to Boonville, Forestport then back home through Harrisville. It'll be about 170 miles for the day, give or take. Please join us.

At this point on a cold wet almost summer, but not, Sunday, you may as well day drink. Throw in pizza eating or good measure.

I love you all, mean it.
