SATURDAY, JUNE 14, 2026 – GREENWOOD VFW POST 5864

Greenwood VFW Post 5864 was proud to serve as the starting and ending point for the Tempered Glass Charity Ride!

We had 16 riders representing VFW Post 5864, and a total of 57 motorcycles participated in this year's ride. Thanks to the tremendous support of all the riders, volunteers, sponsors, and participants, a significant amount of money was raised for a very worthy cause.

Events like these demonstrate the generosity and community spirit of our veterans, riders, and supporters. We are grateful to everyone who helped make this event a success.

Thank you to all who participated and supported the Tempered Glass Charity Ride. Together, we continue to make a positive difference in our community while enjoying great fellowship and camaraderie.

FRIDAY, 6/12 AT GREENWOOD VFW POST 5864 – ANOTHER GREAT NIGHT AT THE POST!

A big THANK YOU to everyone who came out and made Friday night another success! Whit's Inn Kitchen stayed open until 10 PM for the first time, giving our members and guests extra time to order from the menu. Due to the great response, the kitchen will remain open until 10 PM again next Friday!

The Treasure Hunt jackpot continues to grow! No winner was drawn this week, which means the jackpot for Friday, June 19, 2026, is expected to be $5,000 or more! Be sure to stop by the Post during the week and purchase your tickets early for a chance to win big.

As always, Karaoke was a blast! Thank you to Chris for providing another fun-filled evening of music and entertainment.

A special shout-out goes to our bartender, Erica, for all of her hard work and dedication throughout the evening. Your efforts are greatly appreciated!

🇺🇸 GREENWOOD VFW POST 5864 CELEBRATES THE 251ST BIRTHDAY OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY – JUNE 14, 2026 🇺🇸

Today, Greenwood VFW Post 5864 proudly joins our nation in celebrating the 251st Birthday of the United States Army.

Established on June 14, 1775, more than a year before the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the United States Army has faithfully defended our nation for over two and a half centuries. From the Revolutionary War to today's missions around the world, Army Soldiers have answered the call to duty with courage, honor, and selfless service.

We pay tribute to all Army veterans, active-duty Soldiers, Reservists, National Guard members, and Army families whose sacrifices have helped preserve the freedoms we enjoy today. Your dedication and commitment to our nation are deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten.

As we celebrate this historic milestone, we remember the generations of Soldiers who have proudly worn the Army uniform and upheld the Army Values of Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage.

The American Flag stands as a symbol of our nation's history, sacrifice, courage, and unity. It serves as a reminder of the brave men and women who have defended our country and protected the liberties we enjoy every day.

On this Flag Day, we encourage everyone to proudly display the American Flag and take a moment to reflect on the values it represents. Let us honor our veterans, active-duty military personnel, and all those who have served under its colors.
