Country Club Malt Liquor out of a two-door garage with a dirt floor. Caffey became the largest volume Miller distributor in 1995 with the acquisition of Carolina Premium Beverage of Charlotte. Several acquisitions in recent years helped consolidate our spot as one of the top 25 Miller, Coors and Pabst distributors in the country. Caffey Distributing Company and Carolina Premium Beverage came together when the former acquired Southern Wholesale of Charlotte in 1995, which had itself joined forces with Cunningham Wholesale in 1940 and Rudisill Enterprises in 1975. Raising a glass to Andrew Gates as we celebrate his 2-year anniversary with Caffey Distributing! 🍻

Over the past two years, Andrew first started as one of our Sales Relief for C-Stores and On-Premise. Andrew quickly advanced to a On-Premise Sales Rep position. He has shown an incredible knack for building strong relationships, sharing their passion for great brews, and delivering results that truly make a difference.
From navigating the ever-changing world of beer sales to connecting customers with their favorite brands, Andrew brings energy, expertise, and enthusiasm to every challenge.

In Andrew’s free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and watching anything college sports.

Celebrating 1 Year of Relief and Excellence!
It’s been one year since Matthew Haney joined us as a Sales Relief team member, and what a year it’s been! Whether it’s juggling schedules, solving last-minute challenges, or always showing up with a can-do attitude, Matthew makes it look easy (even though we know it’s not)!

In Matthew’s free time he enjoys spending time with his 2 daughters and of course cracking a cold Miller Lite at the end of any day that ends with Y and spending time with his friends at his local hole in the wall Freddies! 🍻

Excited to share that we’re partnering with Carolina Premium Beverage this year to tackle hunger in our local communities! Our ambitious goal is to donate 150,000 lbs of food to the Second Harvest Food Bank Organization.

So far, our team has collected 48,636 lbs, and we’re just getting started! You can help us reach our goal by donating through the Second Harvest Food Bank website (select team Carolina Premium Beverage) or by dropping off canned goods at our facility.

Together, we can make a real difference for those in need!

Tussey started with us 3 years ago as one of our Merchandisers. He was promoted to Merchandiser Supervisor!

In Tussey’s free time he likes to spend time with his family, and also does astrophotography when weather is clear! (He captured the picture below of Caffey.)

Congratulations to JT for 10 years with Caffey Distributing!

From the beginning, JT has been a key player in our warehouse operations. He started as one of our order selectors and was promoted to Forklift Operator, which led him to his current role as our 1st shift warehouse Supervisor. Ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently day in and day out.

Beyond numbers and deadlines, it’s the way JT builds relationships with the team, brings energy and positivity to the workplace and consistently goes above and beyond. It’s no exaggeration that our warehouse wouldn’t be the same without JT’s influence and hard work!

In JT’s free time he loves to play the guitar, bass, and drums! He enjoys spending time with his daughter and son, and of course cracking a cold one when he gets the chance.

Today, we celebrate not just a milestone, but a legacy-39 years of unwavering commitment and passion with TJ McQuade!

TJ started his journey with us 39 years ago in our On Premise department when our drivers sold and delivered kegs! He then became OP Manager which led him into Large Format and C Store Sales Rep. This prepared him for his role now as our Large Format Division Sales Manager!

From closing deals to mentoring the next generation, you’ve shown us how it’s done- with a smile, a laugh and the occasional “Back in my day…” story! Thanks for nearly four decades of achievements, epic leadership and proving that age is just a number (but experience is everything!)

In TJ’s free time he loves to spend time with his family, hang out at their beach house in Cherry Grove, play golf and of course crack a cold one when he can! 🍻

Happy 12th work anniversary to our amazing Assistant Controller, Sandy Pope!

Sandy started her journey with us 12 years ago in our AP department then to AR, where she advanced as our Accounting Manager which led to her current role as our Assistant Controller.

From balancing the books to keeping us all in check, Sandy has been the financial rock star of our team. Her dedication, precision, and humor make every day a little brighter (and our numbers a lot more accurate)!

In Sandy’s free time currently, she loves to hang with her pups and family! She not only manages our finances flawlessly, but she is also planning her wedding in her free time as well! 💍

Today, we raise our glasses to celebrate Jake Lee’s 3 years with Caffey Distributing.

Jake started here as a selector 3 years ago and then was promoted to Warehouse Supervisor, which led him to the position he holds now, as one of our Delivery drivers.

From navigating tight corners to dodging traffic jams, Jake has faced every challenge with a smile. Rain or shine, early mornings, late evenings, he ensured that the beer arrives fresh and on time, making Jake the true MVP of every happy hour and weekend barbecue in his market.

In Jake’s free time, he loves to spend time with his two sons, play golf, be at the beach when he’s able, and we can’t forget he’s a ping pong champion!

Today, we honor an incredible milestone as we celebrate Darin Whitaker’s 30-year work anniversary! For three decades, Darin has been the superhero of our operations, saving us from chaos, and leading us to greatness!

During the past 30 years, Darin has worn many hats since starting his journey here. Darin made his first footprint here as one of our truck drivers, quickly moved to swing sales, advanced into Key Accounts Manager then to DSM for our On-Premise Team, to Craft Brand Manager, to Business Manager for our Fresh Tap department which has prepared him to be a key player on our team as our Operations Manager.

From navigating countless challenges with grace to celebrating every victory with us. Darin’s journey has been nothing short of legendary. His wit, wisdom, and wonderful sense of humor have brightened our days. (most of the time 😉)

In Darin’s free time, he loves to spend time with his family and crack a cold one when he gets the chance!

Again, we honor not just for the years, but the countless moments that have made these 30 years memorable. We thank you, Darin, for your loyalty, your hard work, and your friendship. Here’s to you and the incredible legacy you continue to build.
