We began as a Tea Room and Gift Shop, specializing in light lunches, homemade desserts and surrounded by handcrafted gifts on the courthouse square. The Emerald Room, located on the second floor, was created to provide a private dining experience for rehearsal dinners, business meetings and other gatherings while overlooking historic downtown Greencastle. Almost Home expanded in 2001 by renovating
the adjacent building which dated back to 1836. This extensive project created a beautiful dining room showcasing the original stone foundation, exposed brick walls and massive arch with a gorgeous tin ceiling. In 2008 another opportunity for Almost Home came along with the addition of our bar. The building adjacent to the historic dining room was acquired and renovated. It features a handcrafted oak bar surrounded by the warmth of old exposed brick and stained glass, while showcasing a bit of Putnam County history! It's the perfect place for your next gathering or event.
