Cozy Cabin Concerts

Cozy Cabin Concerts As the name implies, intimate deck/backyard concerts (40 guests max) in an Adirondack-style setting We're just an hour's drive from New York City. Loved it!

Ken and Linda Bolton welcome you to their home for occasional acoustic performances by indie/emerging singer/songwriters, as well as established artists such as Neil Young, Van Morrison, and Joan Baez (hey, you know what they say, dream big). New York music lovers can hop NJ Transit's Raritan Valley Line to Dunellen station just a mile from our home. We'll pick you up and drop you off! A couple of

years ago, a seasoned artist contacted us for a gig. When I realized who he was, I confirmed that he knew that we’re a 25 seat living room series; he replied, "25 Engaged Listeners is Better Than 250 Talkers Any Day." Cozy Cabin Concerts is a "real" music venue (maximum 30 guests), "an acoustic oasis for those in the know," with performances by national and international indie emerging and aspiring singer-songwriters as well as familiar artists. For the past decade we've had the pleasure of hosting musicians from New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Nashville, New Orleans, the West Coast and points in between, as well as Argentina, Brazil, Canada, the UK, Australia, South Africa and Japan. Our "family" includes former American Idol and The Voice contestants and a Grammy nominee and Grammy winners! Many of our "kids," as we fondly refer to our younger musicians, have won regional and national songwriting competitions and have performed with household names. We've also been extremely fortunate to host nationally recognized artists--Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion, rock and roll/reggae, blues and soul man Garland Jeffreys, and folk icon Eric Andersen. To paraphrase artist Martin Rivas, we strive to provide an encouraging and empowering environment for musicians to make sounds for "gourmet" audiences. The ambiance is unparalleled--an authentic Adirondack-style cabin nestled in the Watchung Mountains of central New Jersey, an hour from midtown Manhattan and Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and about 90 minutes from Center City Philadelphia. We've had the honor of being the recipient of Concerts in Your Home's 2016 Host of the Year, and Honorable Mention for 2017 Host of the Year. This recognition is based on the fact that hosts love music so much that they make it a hobby, love artists so much that they've taken them into their home and made them feel like family, and care about their friends and community so much that they work to connect them with inspiring independent music. Friends as well as friends we haven't met yet are welcome to all of our performances. Here are some testimonials from past performers:

Hello!

Hope you're all keeping safe, sane, and well. Wanted to share this request from Irish artist Grainne Hunt. Were you here Spring 2024 for Grianne's concert (her first US tour; you were among the first to discover her!) with Asbury Park musician Johnny Kasun? Happy to report both are plying their craft, Johnny is gaining steady traction on the NJ music scene, and Grainne and Jules have been touring the US this spring--perhaps you saw last month's show at Godfrey Daniels in Bethlehem, PA? My United State of Music brother Brian McCloskey was wowed by their peformance: "Sometimes, the best thing about Godfrey Daniels is being blown away by someone you've never seen before! Last night was one of those nights! How have I made it to this ripe old age without experiencing a Grainne Hunt Music show! Grainne, accompanied on drums and beautiful blending harmonies by Jules Stewart brought an absolutely deadly show to the club! (Deadly, I'm informed, is Irish for awesome... and it was all that!)"

Grainne recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund her next album, and she asked us to help spread the word. You know how challenging it is for indie artists to fund their project; the campaign ends May 25, and every little bit helps.

Hope to share a concert with you down the line.

Greetings Music Family! I've been pining a bit for our gourmet audience gatherings and wanted to share this wonderful offer from our neighbor. I know many of you enjoyed Red White & Que (their mac and cheese is the best); they graciously let our guests use theiri parking lot. You may not know that the owner is a Marine, and this Saturday (November 8) he's thanking ALL veterans with FREE EATS in celebration of the Marine Corps' 250th Birthday! If you're in the area (or if you want to take a drive), visit them this Saturday,, November 8. I'll be attending the New England Regional Folk Alliance gathering of the clan in Albany, but Ken will be here and I'm sure he'd love to reminisce with you!

See y’all on Saturday for FREE CHOW! Veterans eat free AND can enter to win an all inclusive resort vacation thanks to our partners and friends of our “buy a vet a meal” program!

I awoke to the sad, but not unexpected, news that Terry Reid has lost his battle with cancer. His two Cozy Cabin appearances with the Cosmic American Derelicts were certainly among the highlights of our 13-year history; his performances were out of body experiences for everyone who was here. Safe celestial travels, Terry; once you and Ozzy settle in, it should be a heck of a new band. Just for fun, let's see what you, Brian, Sly, Marianne, Garth, and Joey can do.
