A message from the administrator:
I want to offer my sincere apology to the membership of Green Bay Moose Lodge 801 for an error in the way our recent special meeting regarding a proposed dues increase was conducted.
As Administrator, it is my responsibility to ensure that our Lodge meetings and business are conducted in accordance with Moose International’s General Laws, policies, and procedures. Unfortunately, the special meeting was not conducted in strict compliance with those requirements.
Specifically, alcohol was present in the meeting room during the discussion and vote on the proposed dues increase. Because of this procedural violation, the vote taken by the membership is considered null and void and cannot stand.
Following the meeting, our Territory Manager received a complaint from one of our members regarding the procedure that was followed. After reviewing the matter, it was determined that we must begin the process again and conduct a new special meeting in full compliance with Moose International regulations.
I take responsibility for this oversight and apologize to everyone who took the time to attend the meeting, participate in the discussion, and cast a vote. I understand that your time is valuable, and I regret that members will be asked to participate in this process again.
Please understand that restarting the process is not intended to disregard or diminish anyone’s vote or opinion. It is necessary to ensure that every member has the opportunity to participate in a meeting and vote that fully complies with the rules governing our fraternity.
Information regarding the new special meeting, including the date, time, and proper notice, will be provided to the membership once the required procedures have been completed.
Green Bay Lodge 801 belongs to its members, and maintaining your trust requires that we conduct Lodge business properly, fairly, and transparently. When we make a procedural mistake, the appropriate response is to acknowledge it, correct it, and make sure we do better going forward.
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and confusion this has caused, and I appreciate your understanding as we restart the process and ensure it is handled correctly.
Sincerely
Stephanie Aanonsen
