🍺 A LITTLE PSA FROM YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD BARTENDER/OWNER 🍺
When you’re out at your favorite dive bar, biker bar, hole-in-the-wall, or big fancy bar, remember one thing:
Your bartender is human too.
You might be sitting there drinking to forget your problems. Meanwhile, your bartender is sober, listening to yours, pouring your b**r, cleaning up your mess, and smiling through it — while possibly dealing with a whole lot of their own, but they still show up and do their job.
Yes, bartenders have lives outside that bar! 😂
They have kids they worry about, spouses or boyfriends/girlfriends, parents, family and friends. Some are single and handling everything on their own. They have bills, responsibilities, arguments, heartbreak, sick family members, bad news, and days when life is just kicking their ass.
Sometimes they walk into work carrying something way heavier than that case of b**r, but you may never know it because they put on a smile and ask:
“What can I get ya?” 🍺
Sometimes your bartender is your cheapest therapist — but plot twist: your bartender might need a therapist too! 😂
And YES… bartenders have BLADDERS. 🚽😂
If they disappear for five minutes, RELAX. They may actually be using the bathroom, or they might just be sitting there for 60 seconds thinking:
“Lord, give me the strength not to throw somebody out tonight.” 😂
They've been running, stocking, cleaning, listening to everybody's life story, remembering your drink, dealing with attitudes and doing it all while somebody is waving an empty bottle at them like they're directing traffic — then leaving a 50-cent tip. 🤦‍♀️😂
So no matter how many b**rs you've had:
❤️ Be patient.
💵 Tip your bartender.
🚽 Let them p*e.
😊 Give them a little grace.
🍺 And don't be an as***le.
Because the person behind that bar has a heart, feelings, people they love, people they worry about, problems you know nothing about, and bad days just like you do.
Be good to your bartender.
Because sometimes while they're helping you forget about your problems…
they're trying their best not to think about their own. ❤️🍻
And besides… they already know WAY too much about you. 😂🍺much love Cheri (Bartender Cheri 😊)

GO PACK GO 🏈🍺🏈🍺

Being a bartender is so much more than pouring drinks. 🍻❤️
It takes patience, strength, thick skin, compassion, and a whole lot of energy. We spend hours on our feet, work late nights, miss weekends and holidays, clean up messes we didn’t make, deal with attitudes we didn’t deserve, and somehow keep smiling through it all.
We’ve seen people at their best, and we’ve seen people at their worst. We deal with the rude customers, the drunk arguments, the people who think snapping their fingers will get our attention faster, and the nights when we’re exhausted but still have a room full of people depending on us.
But there’s another side to bartending that people don’t always see.
Sometimes we get to hand someone a drink while they celebrate a birthday, an engagement, a new job, or simply making it through another week. 🥂
Sometimes someone sits down at our bar after one of the worst days of their life, and what they really need isn’t the drink—they need someone to listen.
We hear about heartbreaks, marriages, divorces, new babies, lost loved ones, new beginnings, and everything in between. We laugh with strangers who eventually become regulars, and regulars who eventually start feeling like family.
There are nights when this job will test every ounce of patience you have. There are nights your feet hurt, your back hurts, your social battery is completely gone, and you wonder how you’re still functioning.
And then someone looks at you and says, “Thank you. I really needed this tonight.”
And suddenly you remember that sometimes being a bartender means being a small part of somebody’s story.
We pour the drinks, but sometimes we also pour a little happiness into a celebration, offer a little comfort during a hard time, give someone a place to belong, or simply provide a listening ear when they need one.
It’s exhausting. It’s chaotic. It’s definitely not always glamorous.
But sometimes, it’s pretty damn rewarding. ❤️🍻
Cheers to the bartenders—the drink makers, listeners, problem solvers, peacekeepers, entertainers, and unofficial therapists behind the bar. 🥃
