Great Falls, let us reintroduce you to the sweetest little girl, Khalia Altenburg. ❤️💙
From her very first breath, Khalia has been a fighter. In 2024 she was born with four congenital heart defects, the most severe being a complex condition called Double Inlet Ventricle. 🩺💔
She was placed on hospice shortly after birth. Khalia defied the odds and finally made it home after 10 days in the hospital. Since then, she has endured two open-heart surgeries and serious complications that have kept her hospitalized for months. Through it all, this little warrior has continued to fight. 👊👊
But, Khalia is facing yet another challenge. 😔
With her oxygen levels steadily declining, she must return to Seattle for a heart catheterization, to determine whether she needs a minimally invasive procedure or another open-heart surgery.
Her family is praying that surgery can be avoided. 🙏
With both parents needing to be by her side, the unexpected travel, lodging, missed work, and childcare arrangements for her two older siblings have placed an overwhelming financial burden on the family. 💸💸
