Meca’s House of Angels provides a caring, compassionate home-away-from home at no charge to individuals in Kent County who are dying. Located in a residential neighborhood in Kentwood, the nonprofit is a dedicated home where families facing a terminal diagnosis find love and support as they work to make the most of the final weeks with their loved one. Meca’s House provides 24/7 nonmedical care and supervision, including meals, bathing, toileting, medication administration and more to ensure all patient and family needs are met.

Meca’s House fills a gap in services available in Kent County as the first “social hospice house” supporting patients and their caregivers at the end of life. Many patients do not want to spend their final weeks in a clinical care setting, such as a hospital or nursing home. Meca’s House provides a caring, warm alternative for those seeking a “home” for their final days.

At the end of life, Meca’s House works with families to bring joy – large and small – to their loved ones to maximize the remaining time available and create lasting memories for those left behind. For more information, visit
