If you stop in at Dragonfly Coffee in the Central Square Mall in Grand Rapids, you're sure to be greeted by a very friendly barista. The shop is owned by Itasca Life Options, a nonprofit organization empowering people of all abilities, and the people who work there, serving the public, baking the goodies, and keeping the place stocked, are all glad to have the work to do. Nobody's just marking time - they give it their all. Sarah Slaubaugh is the job coach, and two of the people she works with, Hannah Hays and Tammy Jo Manning, will tell us their stories at our Labor Day weekend storytelling show, this Friday at Klockow Brewing. They bring a lot of spirit and courage. Great coffee, too! Take time off for an evening of stories On the Job. Show starts at 6 pm, and all are welcome.

Stay Human - Storytelling for Labor Day Weekend is fast approaching! Save the date!

We're featuring "On the Job" stories, Friday September 4 for Labor Day Weekend. We'll hear from some folks who absolutely love their jobs, some who have bailed, and others who have a completely different view of their work than they had when they started out. Great local storytellers, 6 - 8 pm at Klockow Brewing in Grand Rapids. Everybody has job related stories. Time permitting , we'll have an Open Mic too, so bring your story from the break room or the boss's office. No admission, all welcome, start the holiday weekend right with a live storytelling show.
