We are honored to have been selected as a 2026 James Beard Restaurant and Chef award nominee! This will be our second consecutive nomination for Josh Niernberg in the Outstanding Chef category. This nomination once again is a reflection of our team, our collective efforts in showcasing our menu. Those efforts reflect not only the back of house but our entire crew that work hand in hand to execute service daily. On behalf of all of us, thank you! Tomorrow we will be celebrating the and teams! Tacoparty will be open for lunch from 11:30-3pm. Both restaurants will be closed for dinner and reopening for normal hours on Monday. 🥂

Hi everyone, me again… 🥂

We started Bin 707 in 2009, moved to downtown Grand Junction in 2011, built and opened a permanent home for the restaurant in 2024 and have been so lucky to be surrounded by an absolutely incredible team, not only at Bin but both Bin and - those teams start every shift with a preshift meeting to discuss the day, something seemingly trivial but I believe to be paramount for us to all come together each day. I start them all just as I started this post 😊

I don’t have a clue how we ended up on this list of incredible restaurants, but I do know if anyone could do it, our team could. Thank you to our teams past and present for creating and building these special restaurants. Thank you for finding us and and thank you to our guests for allowing and supporting us while we find our way!

One more thing, a huge congrats to all the other restaurants on this list especially our friend in Denver at 🥂

A little over a week ago, the Bin and teams flew to Chicago (23 of us in total!) to attend the 35th annual awards. I (Josh) was nominated as one of five finalists for the Final award of the evening, the “Outstanding Chef” category.

I have/had no expectations of winning this award, however, being there, surrounded by our team my family and friends superseded any award I could have won.

My team and I that make this restaurant what it is, in a city of barely 65,000 people in Western Colorado had the opportunity to share the spotlight with the best of the best across the nation. We will all be able to reflect on that moment forever and hopefully continue me to strive to catch a glimpse of it again.

I want to congratulate all of the nominees: and of course the winner - it’s an honor to share this with you all.

I am eternally grateful for the years of partnership in creating what we have. To Ryan, Danielle, Val, Jeremy, Shay and my wife/business partner Jodi and to the Bin707 Kitchen team of MikeB, Dave, Janelle, Hannah, KC, Kevin, Andy and Mike W.

I also want to recognize those who have had a profound impact on what and who we are today thank you to: Miles, Nick G, Keya, Eric O, Tammy, Gavin, Drew, Nate, Tommy, Stan, Karen, Nick, and of course all of our family and friends and all of our crew both past and current of both Bin and Tacoparty for years and years of constant support. Thank you all for believing in each other and me.
