🤠 AWRSC 80TH ANNIVERSARY! THANK YOU! 🇺🇸
What a way to celebrate 80 years of the Alton-Wood River Sportsmen’s Club!
Looking back at these pictures from Saturday night, it’s pretty incredible to see what our club was able to put together. From the D&D Pro Rodeo, to the Porch Cafe Band, food and vendors, and finishing the night with an awesome fireworks show, it was a celebration we won’t soon forget.
But what these pictures don’t show are the countless hours that went into making Saturday happen.
This event was planned, organized, set up, worked and cleaned up by VOLUNTEERS. There were countless meetings, phone calls, decisions, long days and late nights. People gave up evenings, weekends and time with their families. without being paid a dime, because they care about this club and wanted its 80th anniversary to be something special.
And when it came time to get it done, our club came together. People stepped up wherever they were needed and did everything they could to make this event the best it could possibly be. Seeing the grounds and parking lots packed and that many people gathered around the rodeo arena made all of that hard work worth it.
Was everything perfect? No, and we knew going into this that there would be a learning curve. This was our first rodeo and one of the largest events our club has ever taken on. We have received a lot of feedback about what worked, what didn’t, and what we could do differently next time. We appreciate it. There is always room to learn and improve, and if we take on another event of this size, we’ll be better because of what we learned Saturday.
Most importantly, THANK YOU to everyone who came out and helped us celebrate 80 YEARS of AWRSC! Whether you’ve been around the club for decades or Saturday was your first time through our gates, we truly appreciate you being there.
We also owe a HUGE THANK YOU to every sponsor and everyone who donated money, materials, equipment, services or their time. This event simply would not have been possible without you. The support we received from local businesses, organizations, members and individuals was unbelievable.
Now we want to hear from everyone who was there! 👇
Tell us in the comments what you enjoyed the MOST about Saturday! The rodeo? The band? The fireworks? The food? The atmosphere? Seeing friends and family?
We’d love to fill the comments with some of the good memories from the night and let everyone see what this celebration was really about.
80 years is something worth celebrating. Here’s to everyone who built this club before us, everyone volunteering to keep it going today, and the generations who will hopefully enjoy AWRSC for many years to come.
50/50 winning ticket will be posted in the pictures, please check your tickets and contact us if you have the winning ticket.
THANK YOU for celebrating 80 years with us! 🤠🍻🎆
