How Landshark Began...

Landshark Bar & Grill is the sister restaurant of Margaritaville. Margaritaville was created by musician and author Jimmy Buffett. Jimmy wrote the song “Margaritaville” on a weekend trip to Key West, FL in the 1970’s. While touring with his band, The Coral Reefers, Jimmy began to notice people wearing misspelled Jimmy Buffett t-shirts. This inspired him to start his own line of merchandise with his friend and business partner, Sunshine Smith. In 1985, Jimmy and Sunshine decided to open the first Margaritaville retail store in Key West. Jimmy’s legions of “Parrotheads” visited Key West in search of their Margaritaville tees and trinkets, but something was missing. Where could they find their Cheeseburger in Paradise and Perfect Margarita? The answer was obvious, so the first Margaritaville Cafe was opened in the heart of Key West in 1987. Almost 30 years later, now “Parrotheads” can flock to Margaritavilles around the world in search of their lost shaker of salt.

Landshark made it’s first appearance in 2011 in Myrtle Beach, SC. These beach front venues feature a laid-back, beach bar vibe with spectacular ocean views. Great burgers and sandwiches, our signature margaritas and boat drinks, classic rock music and friendly service all make Landshark Bar & Grill the perfect beach hangout.
