Five years ago, Mic’s Mini Market opened in a food desert right off Airline in Gastonia with one goal — to serve the community. A few months after opening, we realized there weren’t many food options nearby, so we decided to start simple by making hot dogs inside the store.

Within weeks, the hot dogs became a huge hit. One year later, we purchased our food truck and parked it right outside the convenience store — and that was the beginning of what many now know as Mic’s Kitchen.

Did you know hot dogs were the very first item we ever sold? They are truly the root of our business and a huge part of our story. 🌭
