Have you heard? DaShawn & Wendy Hickman present Sacred Steel at Yadkin Arts Council tomorrow, May 29, at 7:30pm! You won't want to miss this evening of soulful sounds evoking the blues-gospel traditions of the 1930s.

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธTickets at https://www.yadkinarts.org/product/dashawn-and-wendy-hickman/

Part of our Sounds of the Mountains Concert Series with Yadkin Arts Council and Cultural Center, this concert was originally scheduled for January 24, 2026.

Hailing from Mount Airy, N.C., DaShawn grew up hearing the pedal steel in church and listening to his mother play lap steel at home. He picked up the instrument at the age of five, and found fame in his teens as a member of Sacred Steel band The Allen Boys. Now one of the foremost players of Sacred Steel, he has performed with Cirque du Soliel, on America's Got Talent, and was inducted into the Sacred Steel Hall of Fame in 2023. Paired with Wendy Hickman's powerful vocals channeling Anita Baker and India Arie with a splash of Tina Turner's rasp, DaShawn and Wendy Hickman's Sacred Steel is an unforgettable show

The Yadkin Arts Council welcome DaShawn & Wendy Hickman for a rescheduled Sounds of the Mountains concert in partnership with the Blue Ridge Music Center on Saturday, May 29th at
