Dear Valued Grog House Customers and Friends:
I hope you are all well and your safety is our top priority so I have included the report from our structural engineer below to be completely transparent. There are 2 small soft spots in the floor at Grog House that we had already planned on repairing prior to the start of the Fall 2021 Semester. As you can see from the attached report, the Grog House is completely structurally sound and only these 2 small areas need to be repaired. However, the 2 small areas were not of concern to our engineer because only a portion of the top layer was soft, the bulk of the floor structure under these areas were dry, undamaged and structurally sound. Basically, there was never any danger for all of you while in Grog House. However, we have already engaged with Gainesville's Building Official to obtain the necessary permits to make these very minor repairs. Lastly, I would like to thank you all for your support over the last 25 years and once we get these repairs completed we will be throwing a Customer Appreciation party to celebrate our 25 years here on University Avenue.
