In March 2012, four friends came together with the concept of opening a brewery in our hometown of Gainesville. We all had great jobs and young kids, so the idea of changing our lives and opening a brewery was truly a leap of faith. As we discussed our reasons for going into the beer business, we realized that each of us offers different perspective and unique experience but that we all want the s

ame thing: make excellent beer, build awareness and appreciation of Florida’s springs, have a great space for people to come and enjoy a pint, be an exceptional place to work, and be a big part of our local community. This is the reason why we’re here – we hope you’ll join us in our vision and passion for great beer and great community.

This Saturday, come ready to use all five senses. Cold hazy pours, scents of hop flowers and street food in the air, brass horns cutting through a packed beer garden, and flavors you genuinely won’t find anywhere else. Funky Haze Fest is the full experience. ✨

Here’s what’s waiting for you:

🍑LET’S GET STONED Stone Fruit Sour Ale — Kettle soured with apricots, peaches, and date syrup. Tart enough to pucker, smooth enough to keep going back. Stone fruit through and through.

🌶️ HOT N’ HAZY Jalapeño Hazy IPA — Brewed with Citra hops for a citrusy hit of orange and grapefruit, then finished with candied jalapeños from our friends at . The heat sneaks up on you, mild at first, then just enough to make you take another sip.

🍃 LEMON HAZE GELATO Hazy IPA — Dry hopped with Strata and Mosaic for layers of mixed berry and tropical fruit, then boosted with Super Lemon Haze and Gelato terpenes. A citrusy, berry smoothie in a glass with a dank aroma that hits before the first sip. All the funk, none of the THC.

🍍 Pineapple Express Hazy IPA — Same dank, juicy base as Lemon Haze Gelato, but different terpenes. A heavy dose of Pineapple Express terps give fruity and resinous notes with plenty of juicy pineapple aroma. A dank and refreshing take on a Pineapple Sunset.

Can’t choose? Grab the Funky Haze Fest flight and try them all. 🤘

Starting at 4 PM, five bands will be ready to bring the FUNK — Sooza Brass Band, Dirty Chai, Raspberry Pie Band, Jordan Mobley Jam Band, and Borrowed Brothers take the stage. The vibes will be immaculate, and the funk will be loud.

Food Trucks + will be on site if you get the munchies. 😏

We celebrate pride all year. June just means we throw a bigger party. 🏳️‍🌈✨🎉

The x Pride Party is BACK and we are not holding back. Saturday, June 13th, 3–10 PM. Come ready to shop, scream, dance, and celebrate the hell out of q***r joy.

Here’s how the day goes:
🛍️ 3–7 PM — Q***R MAKERS MARKET
The beer garden fills up with the most talented LGBTQ+ artists, makers, and small businesses in the area. Prints, pottery, vintage finds, vinyl stickers, and more. Shop local. Support q***r creators. Do it with a beer in hand.

👑 7:30–9 PM — FIRST DRAG-NITUDE
You called, they answered. Gainesville’s favorite queens .gration_ and take the stage for a night of sequins, sass, and show-stopping performances under the stars. If you know, you know. If you don’t — you’re about to find out. 👏

🪩 9–10 PM — BIG GAY DANCE PARTY
closes out the night with nothing but certified q***r anthems. The beer garden becomes a dance floor. You will not be standing still. And you’ll want to dress to impress.

Who’s ready to get funky? 🎷

There are Saturday nights, and then there are Saturday nights you’re still talking about a month later. May 30th is the second kind.

Funky Haze Fest is the kind of event that only happens at First Magnitude — a full-on sensory experience where the beer and the music are equally matched. We’re pairing six hours of live funk with a lineup of beers you genuinely cannot find anywhere else. Terpene-infused experimental IPAs, a jalapeño IPA, a stonefruit sour, and a flight built to hold it all together. If you don’t know what terpenes are, you’re about to find out. IYKYK 😉 More details on the beers dropping soon.

The beer garden is going to be transformed. The lights will be up, the funk will be loud, and somewhere between the brass section and your third hazy IPA, the rest of the world is just going to stop mattering.

Art. Music. Funk. Haze. This week at FM has raaaaange!

From local artists to live funk, this week is everything we love about this place wrapped into six days.

Friday night, we kick off our first Art Walk of 2026 featuring live music from Nolia Joy and a curated lineup of local artists working in handcrafted jewelry, stained glass, clay, painting, and graphic design. Come browse, come listen, come stay a while.

Then Saturday, Funky Haze Fest takes over the beer garden with special hazy and funky beer releases and live funk music from 4–10 PM

Consider this your sign to take the bait. 🎣

Tiger Shark is back in cans. Last year this one found its people, so we brewed it again. Mosaic and Krush hops, plus a wild card variety called Anchovy (don’t worry, it doesn’t taste like fish). Peach nectar, fresh lime, a little raspberry candy on the finish. 6.7% ABV and zero apologies.

But this time it brought a little brother along.

Baby Shark is new to the taproom and built for a different kind of afternoon. Same hazy, tropical DNA as Tiger Shark, El Dorado, Sabro, HBC 989, and Citra hops delivering juicy citrus and ripe stone fruit, just clocking in at 2.7% ABV. Full flavor, fraction of the punch. If you’ve been wanting a craft beer you can actually have a few of without rearranging your whole evening, we brewed this one for you.

You don’t have to sing the song to order one. But we’re not saying it won’t help your case. 👶🦈

Drag Bingo is back this Thursday, May 14th at 7:30 PM, hosted by the fierce and fabulous Emma Gration, with the Pride Center of North Central Florida raising funds for their capital campaign to find a permanent home for the community.

Here’s how it works: Bingo cards are $3 for one or $5 for two, with proceeds going straight to the Pride Center’s building fund. Donate $10 or more and you’ll score a wristband good for $1 off pours all night long. 🎟️

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day, and we’ve got the perfect way to spend it.

Jazz Brunch with the Jazz Bandits is happening Sunday, May 10th from 12–3 PM in the beer garden. Live jazz, special brunch bites from Frenchmen Street Food, cold beer, and good company — honestly, not a bad way to spoil a mom.

Florida is weird. We love that about it. 🤪

Vintage souvenirs, Florida kitsch, live bluegrass, and cold beer — the beer garden is about to get very Florida. Floridiana Festival with the is this Saturday, May 9 from 12–6 PM and admission is FREE.

20+ vendors bringing vintage Florida souvenirs, kitsch, artifacts, artwork, and books. Live bluegrass from Boilin’ Oil from 1–3 PM, followed by acoustic jams from Chris Modrono. Food from and . It’s basically a treasure hunt for anyone who loves the weird, wonderful, and nostalgic side of the Sunshine State.
