Our Final Pour 💔🍷
After 11 incredible years, Caps & Corks is being forced to close—not by choice, but in accordance with the terms of my lease, Baybrook Mall is revoking our lease—without cause.
I tried everything—selling the bar, negotiating more time, or even just a few months to transition. But my pleas have fallen on deaf ears. Instead, I’ve been given just 30 days to pack up, close the doors on over a decade of my life, and figure out what’s next.
Legally, they can do this. But that doesn’t make it right. From the very beginning, I have felt bullied, and despite expressing this countless times, nothing ever changed. I am not a big corporation—I am a single mom just trying to provide for my daughter, my family, and my community.
I can’t understand how someone could dislike me so much that they’re willing to do this. I have poured everything into Caps & Corks, and now I’m being forced to walk away—not because I failed, but because someone else made that decision for me.
I am heartbroken—for myself, for my daughter, my family, my employees, and for every customer who has made Caps & Corks their home. We’ve been through hurricanes, freezes, COVID, and all the struggles of small business ownership, and yet, this is what takes us down. It doesn’t make sense.
But if there’s one thing I do know, it’s that God has a bigger plan. So in true Caps & Corks spirit, we’re **going out the way we lived—**with love, strength, and a community that stands together.
Let’s make our Final Pour, February 22-24, a celebration of everything this place has meant to us. One last toast, one last laugh, one last weekend together.
Monday, February 24th, will be our official last day of business. After that, we need to use our final days to move out before the 28th. This is our last chance to raise a glass together—let’s make it count. 🍻💃
