This is Amit. Today I am writing a special, and perhaps my last message, as the owner of Joe's Corner....
Seven years ago, Neelam and I became the proud stewards of Joe's Corner, a 100-year-old community establishment (aka restaurant and bar) in this beautiful, beautiful town called Niles.
From day one, this place was more than just a business for us—it was a labor of love, a gathering space, and a second home filled with laughter, great food, amazing beer, and even better company.
Through the years, we’ve shared so many unforgettable moments—trivia nights filled with friendly rivalries, paint and sip sessions that brought out hidden talents, live bands that had us all dancing, and comedy nights that left us in stitches. But what truly made this journey special - was all of you!
Covid exposed a whole another layer of this community's kindness and gave a new meaning to our business.
When the pandemic turned the world upside down, you showed up for us in ways we will never forget. The special cookies ( and zach) you baked for us, the beautiful flowers (Barb Howard) looking at you) thoughtful notes (so many of you), and heartfelt offers to volunteer or help financially (Sam Neema) were overwhelming reminders of the love and kindness that make this community so special.
You kept us going, and for that, we are forever grateful.
Now (on Feb 1), as we pass the torch to the new owners, Stephanie and Derek, we do so with full hearts, knowing that they will continue to nurture the spirit of this beloved place. While this chapter is coming to a close for us, the memories, friendships, and joy we’ve shared here will last a lifetime.
Thank you for every meal, every laugh, every late-night conversation, and every moment of support. We will miss you all dearly, but we know this isn’t goodbye, goddbye, but just a new beginning.
