National Clustered Spires High Wheel Race Come see the OG of modern high wheel racing in downtown Frederick, Maryland! July 10, 2027. Free for spectators.

Presented by Brewer's Alley Restaurant & Bar and Frederick Tourism, the 8th National Clustered Spires High Wheel Race will be a unique racing event set to take the streets of historic downtown Frederick on July 16, 2022, featuring riders of antique or replica high wheel bicycles. This is the only race of its kind in the United States, and one of few in the world! Celebrate the love of bicycles by watching this event!

While we didn’t hold the National Clustered Spires High Wheel Race this year, we’re thrilled to see new high wheel racing events taking shape around the country. Every successful event helps introduce more riders to this incredible sport and strengthens the field of racers we’ll welcome back to Frederick in 2027.

A special congratulations to Eric Leon Bradley, who has raced in Frederick and did a fantastic job organizing the inaugural Desert Mountains Ordinary Race. It’s exciting to see the high wheel racing community continue to grow, and we wish this event many years of success.

Congratulations to Nyle Blanck, our 3rd-place overall finisher from last year's National Clustered Spires High Wheel Race, on earning an impressive 2nd-place finish in this past weekend's London Nocturne Penny Farthing Race!

We're proud to see Nyle representing the high wheel community on the international stage and look forward to welcoming him back to Frederick for the 2027 National Clustered Spires High Wheel Race.
