Week #5 of the American Place Casino Summer Sweeper series is officially complete, and we were proud to welcome Matt Gasn into the booth with $2 Phil & Ten On The Deck Productions to discuss all things bowling! If you have a chance to stop by Top Notch Bowling, check out their two locations for all your bowling needs! Matt chose the WTBA Paris pattern, and it proved to be quite the challenge for the bowlers tonight. We had 40 bowlers come out and take on the challenge, trying to win their share of the prize fund, Top Notch bowling ball shammies for the top-9, and SummerFest tickets for the top-4!
The cut number this week to make the top-18 was 592, showing how tough they played tonight! We had some pretty good battles through the elimination rounds, and our final four bowlers tonight were Dominique Fortson, Dartanion Sellers , Chris Hoffmann , and John Halaska . This match was close early, as bowlers battled for position. Dominique was in his first ever tournament, and though he had a great showing, could not keep up with the striking place of Chris and Dartanion. Those two battled until it was a done deal, and Dartanion sealed up his second consecutive victory in the series! Way to go! Dominique captured 2nd place with a late flurry, Chris was 3rd, and John took 4th place. Congratulations everyone!
The main event standings now have a clear cut leader, with Dartanion accumulating 15 points in the last two weeks! ๐ฎ
18 points - Dartanion Sellers
12 points - Steve Bequest
8 points - Ben Medina
7 points (4-way tie) - Ian Kloss , Jayden Kenney , Kellan Baldewicz, and Lori Grisanti Exner

The scratch division is seeing a lot of movement every week, with this one really being anyone's game at this point.
208 points - Ben Medina
205 points - Leo Voss
204 points - Steve Bequest
186 points - Jayden Kenney
185 points - Steve Bulanda
The senior division has a lead horse, and a pack battling it out for positioning:
58 points - Steve Bequest
41 points (tie) - Chris Hoffmann and Robert Kenney
40 points - Lori Exner
36 points (tie) - Jim Ellenberger and Mike Donnelly
35 points - Michael James Hungelmann
We are just over a third of the way through sweeper season, and we have only just begun! Remember, if you are chasing the $1000 first prize, you need to bowl at least half the events to qualify for the final roll off on Brew City Bowling Show later this season! Thank you to American Place Casino and Holz Motors for being wonderful sponsors once again this year! Stay tuned for the details of the event for next week!
