Honoring the Fallen: The True Meaning of Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Memorial Day is more than just a long weekend or the unofficial start of summer. It is a sacred time to pause, reflect, and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Here is what you need to know about this day of remembrance:

The Origins: Began after the Civil War as "Decoration Day" to clean and decorate the graves of fallen soldiers.

The Distinction: Unlike Veterans Day (which honors all who served), Memorial Day specifically focuses on those who died in the line of duty.

The Tradition: The National Moment of Remembrance takes place on Memorial Day at 3:00 PM local time. Pause for one minute of silence to show your respect.

As we enjoy time with family and friends, let us keep the fallen and their families in our hearts.
