Monarch Public House

Monarch Public House Beautiful 1894 Supper Pub features an Irish-American menu served with craft brews, wines and muddled cocktails.

Established in 1894 as part of the new Odd Fellows Hall, The Monarch is Wisconsin's oldest continually serving bar. Undergoing renovation and expansion since 1995, the original bar, furniture, back bar and tin ceilings remain the centerpiece of this old world tavern. The owners continue to commit to this project as the lower level now features a truly unique Draught House for the original Fountain

Brew recipes from the 1850's. The third floor is undergoing a similar upgrade and will feature five different tin ceilings and many incorporations of salvaged architectural items and furniture. Plans call for a viewing and dining platform to be built on the roof with a spectacular view of the Mississippi River and the bluffs surrounding the city. On tap since 1997, the original recipes from The Fountain City Brewing Company were saved by the former assistant brewmaster and donated to the owners with the caveat that they remain true to the taste and brew notes.

Do you know what these figures are based on? If you do, you belong to a certain line of generations. If not, you are much younger and maybe have never seen an old Disney movie or cartoon.
We picked these up yesterday as part of an auction in the twin cities, allowing the manufacturer to sell off some of their old inventory. While these were commissioned directly by the Disney Corporation, there were many dozens of their characters like Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Snow Wjhite and so on they also did work for: Looney Toons (ie: Bugs Bunny, Taz, Daffy, etc.) and the complete Charlie Brown lineup. It was unbelievable and a step back to our childhood just seeing all these characters, full life size and in brilliant colors.
Stay tuned for what we think will be a fun thing for tjhe kids and a photo op for the parents!

A bit of a surprise for most was the option for grilled onions on the ham and swiss....excellent!
