Over the last few days and, honestly, weeks, I have struggled to find the words to acknowledge how much we appreciate the overwhelming amount of support we have been shown and I have to conclude that I simply don't have the vocabulary to express how thankful we are.

Hard times teach you a lot about who you are, about how life is, but most importantly, how dependent you are on family, friends, and community, and all of the above have shown up in force. Not just in words but in action.

Because the vocabulary doesn't exist to adequately express how much we appreciate each and every single one of you, I will simply say, thank you.

🚨 KITCHEN CLOSED TODAY 🚨

❤️Our kitchen staff has been officially released into the wild to celebrate Mother’s Day with the women who taught them how to burn grilled cheese before becoming professionals and the kids they are still teaching. ❤️

The bar is still open though — because nothing says “Happy Mother’s Day” like letting someone else pour the drinks. 🍻

We’ll be back serving food tomorrow. Until then:

In December of 2023, Twilite Lounge on Lipscomb closed its doors, leaving a quiet void in the Near Southside. But for Jimmy and Monika Morton, that space was never just another bar—it was part of their story. It’s where they celebrated their wedding, never imagining they’d one day return as owners.

Now reborn as Morton's Tavern, the space has taken on a new life. Jimmy and Monika spent hundreds of hours of their own blood, sweat and tears getting the doors open on their dream. Jimmy and Monika set out to create a true neighborhood spot—something that feels like home, where everyone knows your name.

And they’ve done just that.

Now, they need their community.

Jimmy is currently preparing for a critical liver transplant, and this chapter comes with real challenges. If you’ve ever shared a drink, a laugh, or a memory in this space—whether in its past life or its new one—now is the time to show up for the people behind it.
