Ft Myers Beach locals, visitors, and friends —
we need your voice!
Decisions being made right now at the local and state level will directly impact our beach, our small businesses, and the community we all love.
As our island continues to rebuild, we need common-sense solutions — not unnecessary barriers. While safety and resilience matter, overly rigid FEMA codes and regulations are creating serious obstacles for homeowners and small businesses trying to rebuild and reopen.
Ft Myers Beach needs practical, flexible, and realistic rebuilding policies that allow our community to recover, stay local, and remain accessible — not rules that delay progress or push people out.
Please take a few minutes today to email your local officials and state representatives and ask them to support common-sense rebuilding and advocate for reasonable FEMA code interpretations that work for real communities.
Change happens when leaders hear directly from the people who live, work, and love this island — that means YOU.

Thank you for standing with The Cottage and the small businesses that make our beach special.
