Where the Journey Ended, the Story Began!

Long before Greyhound Tavern became a Northern Kentucky tradition, this corner of Fort Mitchell was known as “The End of the Line.”

In 1921, when streetcars carried passengers from Cincinnati into Northern Kentucky, Johnny Hauer opened the Dixie Tea Room right near the end of the streetcar line. It was a simple place for travelers to stop for ice cream, sandwiches and a little refreshment before making their way home.

The streetcars are long gone, but the building remains. Those original rooms are still part of Greyhound Tavern today, and generations of families have continued to walk through the same doors for fried chicken, onion rings, Sunday brunch, celebrations and ordinary evenings that became memories.

More than a restaurant, Greyhound is a place where Northern Kentucky history is still being lived, one table at a time.

Each week, Greyhound Tavern will feature two special 2 oz. bourbon pours, including one B-Line bourbon and one additional Kentucky selection:

September has begun, the school-year routine is in full swing, and somehow everyone still expects dinner... We have that part covered!

Every Monday and Tuesday evening, each guest receives four pieces of Greyhound’s famous fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, coleslaw and a biscuit, served family style for $25 per person.

Let us do the dishes!

Some things have a way of becoming traditions. For generations, Greyhound Tavern has been a place where people gather around the table, share a meal, catch up with familiar faces, and start the day together.

Breakfast is still part of that tradition, Monday through Saturday from 8 to 11 AM, with a different $10 special each weekday:

Monday: Any Omelet
Tuesday: Chicken & Donuts
Wednesday: Breakfast Tacos or Chilaquiles
Thursday: Ft. Mitchell Breakfast
Friday: Breakfast Croissant or Hot Honey Chicken Biscuit

And on Sunday, join us for the breakfast tradition our guests know and love, our legendary breakfast buffet from 10 AM to 2 PM.

After all these years, the table is still waiting.

There is something timeless about a bottle of red w**e shared around the table. The conversation gets a little longer, the meal feels a little more special, and there is always one more story to tell. This National Red W**e Day, pour a glass, settle in, and make an evening of it at Greyhound Tavern.

Summer isn't finished yet. The school year may have started, but the calendar still says summer. There are still slow Saturday mornings, Sunday brunches and evenings when nobody needs to be in much of a hurry. Make Greyhound part of one of them. Start Saturday with breakfast. Gather everyone for our Sunday Brunch Buffet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Or simply come for dinner and stay awhile.

Fall will be here soon enough.

For now, we’re keeping summer around the table.

Back When It Was the Greyhound Grill

Some of you may remember this version of the Greyhound Tavern, long before the building became the place so many of us know and love today.
