* 1/2 cup Water
* 1-2 tsp of chili (adjust to your spice preference)
Instructions for Spicy Honey Syrup:
* Combine honey, water, and chilies in a small saucepan.
* Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the honey is dissolved.
* Reduce heat and let simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the syrup has thickened slightly and the chili flavor has infused.
* Remove from heat and let cool completely.
* Strain out the chili.
Instructions for the Cocktail:
* Prepare the Rim: Brush hot honey on the rim of a coupe glass, then roll the rim in Tajín Clásico.
* Combine Ingredients: In a mixing glass, combine the vanilla bourbon, spicy honey syrup, chocolate bitters, and lime juice.
* Add Ice: Fill the mixing glass with ice.
* Stir: Stir well for 20-30 seconds until thoroughly chilled.
* Strain: Strain the cocktail into the prepared coupe glass filled with fresh ice.
Why this works:
* Vanilla Bourbon: Provides a smooth, sweet base with warm vanilla notes.
* Spicy Honey Syrup: Adds a sweet heat that complements the bourbon and cuts through the richness of the chocolate bitters.
* Chocolate Bitters: Deepens the flavor profile with rich, dark chocolate notes.
* Lemon Juice: Brightens the cocktail and adds a refreshing citrus element.
* Tajín Rim: Introduces a salty, spicy, and tangy kick that enhances the overall flavor experience.
Enjoy your Smoky Aztec!
