Our Story
Established in 2003, locally owned and operated. We are proud to be located in Flagstaff’s Historic District in on of the city’s famous old mercantile buildings. Built in 1924, the Anderson Building as it is affectionately referred to, is situated along the south side of the railroad tracks next to the Rio de Flag. Originally the Northern Arizona Warehouse Co., the building received its name from Chester Anderson who brought Flagstaff’s South Side business to life with trade of the Southwest.
The ski/snowboard themed Altitudes Bar and Grill not only represents the owner’s passion for the sport but also a love for the San Francisco Peaks, Arizona Snowbowl and surrounding area. Take a walk through the restaurant and you will find skis, boots and poles and winter gear dating back to the 1930’s, on loan from Jimmie and Jerry Nunn at the Arizona Ski Museum as well as some of the original snowboards of the industry. Check out the amazing aerial photographs of the mountain and dont miss the many trophies and team pictures that belong to the Flagstaff Ski Club, the local youth alpine ski and snowboard team.
Owning this restaurant is a dream come true and we are glad you’re here. Sit back, enjoy and dont forget to listen for the train....you’re going to want one of our infamous train shots, available only when that big ol’ bad and beautiful trains a passin’ through town (on average 100 times per day)!
