Open daily 11am-10pm & serving breakfast starting at 6am Friday-Monday. The Seaside Inn opened in 1945 as a traditional American "roadhouse" -- A facility providing rooms and meals to the traveling public. Fronting on what was then known as Mirimar Beach, the Seaside flourished as a vacation destination for families from throughout the Southeast. Early risers enjoyed a full breakfast, and lunched on seafood and sandwiches, including the famous half pound hamburger. Vacationers and Locals alike feasted on the nightly buffets featuring fresh seafood and southern style meats, vegetables, soups, and salads. The Seaside welcomed many of the same families year after year. By The late 70's the Fernandina Beach area had been "discovered" by the rest of America and beyond, primarily due to the opening of the Amelia Island Plantation in 1974. The Seaside began to concentrate more and more on it's restaurant business, although the Inn rooms upstairs continued to be in demand. The restaurant and lounge, which had been known by various names, including the Seaside and Breaking Horizons, adopted the Sliders name around 1980. Many will recall the original "Wing-It" on Wednesday nights, oysters served from the boat's bow inside and buckets outside, favorite entertainers and countless other memories of the "Old Sliders". After a long, strong run the business closed in early 2002. Sliders Seaside Grill welcomed 2003 with a totally renovated, Caribbean-themed restaurant, dedicated to top quality food and service. Our dining rooms, lounge, and oceanfront patio offer unique settings for fine food and beverages. In 2011 Sliders expanded the restaurant upstairs with the new Breakers Bar, banquet rooms and outdoor deck seating with gorgeous views of the beach and ocean.
