If we’re being honest, hype was not on our side when we first opened. Lots of folks thought we were too small or too far off the beaten path to be worth visiting. We didn’t get the big crowds that a lot of places in town saw in the 2010s. We also started on a tiny 1bbl brew system which meant we only had a few of our own b**rs on at a time and filled in the gaps with guest taps. One of our earliest reviews I’ll never forget was: “Nothing special. Cool spot to hang if you’re a local I guess, but not worth the trip if you’re like me from out of town.”
We didn’t let words like that get us down. We had a vision of what we could be and knew we had something special. So we kept at it and grew bit by bit, adding to our space here and there as we could. We upgraded our brew system ten fold as soon as we were able which helped greatly expanding our offerings. Eventually people started noticing what we were doing, and that it was worth making the trip out to Fairview to see us.
Ten years later we’re getting the kind of reviews we always dreamed of in our early days. Building something one of a kind has helped us stand out and weather unimaginable challenges we never could have foreseen when we first opened.
Moral of the story? No matter what anyone says- it doesn’t matter where you start, as long as you can see where you’re going. Stay on track, work hard, and you’ll get to your destination one way or another. 🚂🛤️🍻❤️
