The Brick Store A restored 1830s General Store, repurposed as a studio, coworking space & small event space Follow along for updates.

The Brick Store: Located in Fairfield Center, the building has been restored to maintain its historical significance. The owner, Christa Driscoll, has repurposed the storefront as a co-working space, with a kitchenette, lounge rooms and high speed internet. The building will also facilitate her graphic design and art studio, including a workshop for her heirloom letterpress and custom stationery.

I love moving things around until a little corner feels just right—the colors, the textures, how everything fits together. Even after all this time, I still notice things that make me stop and smile. I wanted to share some of the details I love that can get lost in the bigger picture 🏡

I was cleaning and getting ready for a baby shower when I stopped to take these pictures…which might explain why cleaning always takes me a little longer ☺️ It feels so nice to have everything back in place, ready for people to come in and make themselves at home. This time, to celebrate a little life on the way 🤍

If you have something special to celebrate, too, feel free to reach out! With so much already here, a few personal touches can be all you need. It makes getting ready for a gathering feel simple and easy.

A tiny sneak peek from the Night Bazaar while I gather more photos from the evening!✨

I’m still a little starry-eyed! From the first people walking in just before 6pm, to the steady stream of visitors all night, this old store was absolutely full to the brim with life. Warm lights, laughter, smiling faces, shopping bags, and glasses raised to fall and a night out together! 🤩

After months of planning, seeing you all here—browsing, catching up, staying awhile, and supporting these *truly wonderful* small businesses, including my own—meant so much. I kept looking around, literally trying to commit it all to memory. Everything I’d imagined was happening right in front of me 🤍

I have so much more to share very soon. For now, sending out a little love, and a little glimpse of the night!

Also, did anyone else take any fun or pretty pics from the night? I’d be so grateful if you sent them my way, or if you’re comfortable posting them here, please do! It went by wayyy to fast, haha 📸

Testing out a few cocktail tables for this weekend’s Night Bazaar! I’ll have them dotted around the store so you can settle in with a drink, catch up with friends, and take your time browsing and supporting our local vendors ☺️

I really want this to feel like an evening you’re welcome to stay and enjoy. I’ll have the patio furniture out, too, so you can take a seat outside under the lights. And the weather is looking perfect—a clear sunset and clear skies all evening! ✨

My husband had the kids yesterday afternoon while I spent some time here getting ready for Saturday’s big event that you’re all invited to. The counters became my worktable, signs were spread across the floor, and I happily got caught up in all the little details ☺️

I love this part—making things by hand, finding a spot for everything, and following one idea into another…there’s *always* something else I could make, move, or add, haha!

It was me, my laptop, the printer, my paper cutter, and a good portion of the floor. A little makeshift workshop inside this old general store. Felt good to have some time to spread out and work a little bit.

I’m sharing a few pictures from the middle of it all, before the supplies get tucked away and the vendors bring their own hard work through the door. I’m (really) looking forward to that part, too 🤍

I love thinking about all the small businesses, busy making, packing, and planning at kitchen tables, in studios, and in little shops all around here.

The Night Bazaar Pop-Up Market is this Saturday, October 10, from 6–9 PM at The Brick Store. I hope you’ll come see what we’ve all been working on ✨

Every fall, I fall a little more in love with this old place 🍂

The warm brick seems to melt right into the changing foliage, while the historic green trim picks up the green still lingering in the leaves. I love, love, love how the colors bring out the best in each other. What a sight to behold!

I've been taking a few extra moments to admire it all—the storefront, the old door handle, the letter slot, a glimpse inside—before the last leaves fall and the building settles into another Vermont winter.

Nearly 200 autumns here, and I'm grateful to be part of this one 🧡

The Night Bazaar is coming together! ✨ I made signs for everyone joining us and spent yesterday photographing them around the Brick Store. In less than two weeks, you’ll be able to meet the (amazing) people behind them as you shop and sip through all three floors 🥰

There’s a little Brick Store surprise hiding among these photos, too. I did a version of it last year, but this time anyone who comes can be included. I’ll let the photo tell the rest! 🏠

So who will be here…? To your left upon entering at the original general store counters, will be b**r from Kraemer & Kin and w**e and cocktails from The INN. Across the room, you’ll find Lyvabel Body Works’ natural soaps and skincare beside pottery from Clay By Looch. Our Fairfield neighbor Paint and Sip VT will have canvas tote paint kits near the stairs.

At the top of those stairs, stop in to see Gosia Meyer Jewelry for jewelry & permanent jewelry. Then step through to the big timber-framed room, where the old beams create little spaces to explore beneath the stars and café lights. You’ll find handmade jewelry and curated finds from Imperfect & Co, pottery from Earth, Glaze & Fire of Vermont, small works of art from Corliss Blakely, perfume sample sets and custom blends from Bloom Lab Parfumerie, and raw Vermont honey infused with organic herbs from Ariel's Honey Infusions.

Downstairs, settle into the Authors’ Nook and have a chat with Amy Klinger, Amy Huntington & Eugenie Doyle 📚 They’ll have their books with them. Back to Nature Candle Co. is joining us with her beautifully scented soy wax candles too. So many incredible people under one 200-yr-old roof! 💛

Last year, there was a real, supportive hum throughout the store. People lingered to talk. Friends and neighbors connected. Just so much goodness in one moon and star filled night. I can’t wait to feel that again. Come have a drink, wander, say hi to myself and everyone here that night 😌

There’s quite a bit tucked away here that you might never notice as a guest—let me show you around behind the scenes! 🙋🏻‍♀️🏠

One of my favorite things to hear when people walk in is how much room there is, and how much lovelier it feels in person. Having both the main and lower floor makes a difference! With the café lights, decorated shelves, and fun upholstered chairs, so much of the atmosphere is already here for you 🖼️

All of the tables and chairs are included, along with the kitchen area, bar area, and two bathrooms. There are also two Keurigs, a small hot-water kettle, a large coffee percolator, beverage containers, and plenty of serving dishes and platters available to use. Shelves full of decoration, lamps, and plants here, there, and everywhere!🪴

Then there are the extras I’ve gathered: stoneware plates, pretty glasses, little dishes, silverware, chargers, cloth napkins, and tablecloths—all very affordable & available separately. There’s quite a lot tucked away in here 🧡

One of my favorite things is, it’s actually a self-serve space…so that means you can set up and host your gathering totally yourself. I’m always happy to show you around beforehand and talk through your ideas!

I’m imagining you coming through the doors, with a friend or your favorite person, looking up at the moons and stars, then feeling transported somewhere magical! ✨

Maybe you find a piece of pottery you’ll reach for every morning, meet the author of your next read, or run into someone you haven’t seen in ages. You get to meet the people behind the things you bring home, too, which is part of what I love about it.

Looking at this photo from last year makes me so excited to do it again on October 10th from 6-9 PM. I can hang the lights and fill the store with beautiful things, but you bring so much of the feeling I’m hoping to create. Seeing you gathered here, enjoying something together, means a lot to me 💛

One of my favorite little details here is hidden inside these old bins ✍🏻

If you lift the lids, you’ll still find handwritten labels inside — Sugar and Rice — left behind from another era. Every time I see them, I find myself imagining what this space looked like when it was still a working general store.

Nearly two hundred years ago, these bins would have held flour, sugar, rice, and other staples. Customers would have walked through these same doors, while in the attached barn a wooden bull wheel, with a thick rope and iron hook were used to hoist heavy sacks into the store. Those doors and the bull wheel are still in working order, amazingly enough!

Imagine all the people who have come through here over the years—the neighbors, families, and friends. The conversations, the errands, and the day-to-day moments that filled this place with life.

Today the shelves hold books, antiques, flowers, and collected treasures, but the building still carries those stories with it.

And that’s one of the things I love most about having events here…

Whether it’s a baby shower, birthday, anniversary, workshop, or gathering of friends, each event becomes another layer in the story of this old store. Another memory added to a place that has been collecting them for generations ✨

Someday, someone may stand in this very spot wondering about the people who gathered here before them.

And, who knows, maybe they’ll be wondering about your story too! 🧡
