The Gray Goose restaurant, like the town it's landed in, Southport, Connecticut, has an eye on each side of the pond. The comely balance Southport strikes between its legacy as a historic colonial seaport and its proximity to modern Manhattan's sophisticated sensibilities has found its ultimate expression. The Gray Goose offers a rich mix of New England conviviality and British pub spiritedness, o

f buttoned-up English charm and loose-tie New York attitude. Outside, you'll be enchanted by the faintly puritanical austerity of our quaint cottagey façade, of the black shutters on white clapboard and awning to match; but inside, prepare to be enthralled by a New England idiom fully articulated in reclaimed barn siding and a fieldstone fireplace but inflected with a decidedly stylish New York accent, cooly expressed in city-sleek lighting and a carrera marble bartop. And our food is as inviting and enticing as our atmosphere. At the Gray Goose, you can challenge your palate in a rarefied culinary realm of healthful and organic ingredients, where wasabi-lemon yogurt sauce brightens ahi tuna and ginger pineapple salsa harmonizes with sesame-encrusted yellow fin. Or you can pull up a bar stool and indulge in a juicy hanger steak with crisp parmesan shoestring frites and an iceberg wedge in a hail of handmade Maytag blue and smoked bacon crumbles. Once you've experienced our aesthetic and gustatory pleasures, we're sure you'll appreciate the artisanal touch The Gray Goose restaurant will add to the fine art of your living well. Gourmands familiar with Fairfield County's restaurant scene will no doubt recognize in the Gray Goose the signature style of its co-owners, local residents Kevin McHugh and Tommy Febbraio. For McHugh, the creative force that brought to South Norwalk The Match and The Loft, and to Ridgefield The Little Pub, the Gray Goose is the latest incarnation of his ever-evolving restaurateur's vision. For Febbraio, the man behind the old favorites Owned & Operated Tommy's, Sidetracks, and Arizona Flats Restaurants, The Gray Goose is an expression of his newly reignited love affair with restaurants.
