It was a huge treat to see Beaumont Beaullieu play Fairfax Festival this weekend (saddened to see J Bones absent, but there in spirit as always).
These guys have a special meaning to us. Not only are they all awesome musicians and people, but this band formed its roots at Iron Springs. What’s most special, they were an integral part of our last 6 weeks in business back in the Fall of ‘21 helping us wrap up 17 wonderful years. If not for them, those last 6 weeks would not have been nearly as fun. Much love to Beau and crew ♥️🎼🍻

I literally helped build this brewpub up from the ground up with Tom Daly and Dan Joseph just before moving out to Cali to open Iron Springs . You can’t go wrong taking this position, it will change your life forever (it sure did for me 😊). 🍻

I was fortunate enough to have Michael Everett living with me in Boulder back in the late 90’s. To be able to watch his creative process in action up close like that are memories I will cherish forever. Not only was he an artistic genius, but one of the kindest most generous souls I’ve ever known. I am not sure how it started, but Michael always made sure I had #5 of any piece he created and these 2 artist prints of the final Grateful Dead shows have been a prized possession that hung front and center at Iron Springs Pub & Brewery and now hang in our living room. It was the very first pieces of art we hung in the pub as a matter of fact. As I go through the portfolio of Michael Everett art I have the emotions run deep. Michael and I had been in communication recently and I just sent him a care package of Iron Springs shwag, including one of the very last Casey Jones tshirts in existence. Michael and Casey had a very strong bond and he was so excited when he received that gift. Michael you will be missed by so many. I am just so thankful our lives intersected and we got to be friends ❤️💔

POST-PUB LIFE UPDATE

One of the proudest accomplishments we had with owning Iron Springs for so many years was all the Give Back we were able to provide locally for our community.
Now I am extremely excited to have the opportunity (in large part thanks to my amazing family)to be able to Give Back on a more international level while immersing myself in the local culture.
The first of the year I leave for the Philippines (Cebu/Olango Island)to take part in a 9 week volunteer program through United Planet and GIED (Global Initiative for Exchange & Development)
This is something I have been putting together for the past 6 months and I have to make mention, none of this would have been possible had it not been for the full support from Anne and the boys.

I just found out today some of the more finer details.

I will be working on the Olango Island, just off of Cebu city;

1. San Vicente
a. Barangay hall, to assist in the office ( documents, words, excel)
b. RHU or Rural health unit in assisting the activities
c. BPSO- Barangay public safety officers office

2. SVK or the San Vicente Kababayen-an from Peoples Organization, this
is also under the San Vicente LGU- you can help them with the marketing
and promotion

As part of being immersed into the culture and the community I will be staying with a host family. Apparently I will be staying with the barangay captain and his mother’s home who is in her 80's. I will also be helping with meal preparation as well.
