CRAIG BICKHARDT is a critically acclaimed, award-winning songwriter whose career has seen him from Philadelphia to Los Angeles, and Nashville. Growing up in a musical family, his music echoes songwriters of the old school like Tom Rush, Gordon Lightfoot, and Eric Anderson. And his virtuosic guitar work interweaves folk, blues, country, and ragtime influences.
JESSE TERRY has established himself as a top-shelf performer and storyteller rooted in rhythmic rock & roll and sharp songwriting. With a decade of touring under his belt, Terry is an accomplished troubadour, playing 150 shows annually - including premiere festivals such as Bonnaroo and AmericanaFest, in addition to winning the John Lennon Songwriting Contest's Grand Prize.
JILLIAN MATUNDAN is a multi-instrumental singer-songwriter, trade unionist, and first-generation Filipina American. After a fifteen year hiatus from music, she ventured to local open mics in 2019 and has been on a tear ever since, winning more than a dozen songwriting awards, playing numerous shows, and collaborating with musicians on stage and in the studio. She is known to delight audiences with her resonant vocals, acute and relatable observations matched with her unique guitar-style and wicked sense of humor.

Smoke & the Poet is a young and hungry Country band taking Virginia by storm. Touring behind their debut album, “Road From Virginia”, the band is led by North Idaho native, Joey Kuplack, whose catchy melodies and poetic lyrics call you back to country music of old while maintaining a gritty edge, which makes them accessible to young and old alike.
High energy and exuberance lead the charge and sweep audiences into a musical experience rife with poetry drawn from real life experiences and love of adventure.

BRENT FUNKHOUSER
“Funkhouser’s brand of ‘Virginia-grown Americana’ is just beginning to blossom.” - Alchemical Records
Brent Funkhouser began writing songs to quell his adolescent boredom, and quickly fell head-first into a life-long obsession. Growing up in a small town on the edge of Appalachia meant entertainment options were limited, and music provided a creative remedy. Not quite fitting the mold of country despite his Shenandoah drawl, Brent half-jokingly describes his music as y’alternative (or as a friend once said, “not redneck, but redneck adjacent”).
Today, Brent is a dyed-in-the-wool troubadour with hundreds of shows under his belt. Live performance has taken him from the hills of western North Carolina to the coastal communities of Rhode Island, winning over attentive audiences and opening for legends like Judy Collins and Phil Vassar along the way.
Brent’s achingly uplifting lyricism is punctuated by his storytelling prowess. His 2021 debut full-length The Next Karaoke Star was propelled by a fan-powered vinyl campaign and received attention from Whiskey Riff and Adobe & Teardrops. Brent’s upcoming releases showcase his writing at it’s sharpest, embodying sympathetic characters and accented by a poetic flare.

TONIGHT, THE EARLY SHOW WITH REBECCA BERLIN & JUELS BLAND -- 4:30PM TO 6:30PM -- DOORS OPEN AT 4PM.

Imagine the voice of Sara Bareilles mixed with the honesty of Joni Mitchell and the poetic lyricism of Ani DiFranco. If there's one word to describe REBECCA BERLIN it is alchemy. Her musical style, “folk with a twist”-blends the narrative quality of traditional folk with elements of jazz and musical theater, and she is known for unique melodies and song structures, vulnerable storytelling and a voice that cuts through the noise. After taking a 13 year break from music to pursue dance and build her career as a Pilates/Yoga/Gyrotonic teacher, Rebecca burst back into the music scene in 2023 and is rapidly gaining attention as a writer, singer and performer. Past releases include “Anatomy of a Breakdown” (2006), and “Grief Triptych” (2023); her upcoming album, “Questions and Answers”, is set to release in the Fall of 2024.

JUELS BLAND. A singer/songwriter/person from Silver Spring, MD, Juels Bland has performed broadly throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Appalachia as well as countless open mics and coffeehouses here and there. Juels started writing more and recorded some demos. There were a number of songs that he thought weren't terrible. Given this newfound confidence, they were put onto a compact disc in 2014. Shortly after that, he started the idea for a band called The Darkest Timeline. Well, the idea never came to fruition until the cosmos brought Zach Parkman into the fold. He kept writing. They played a bunch of shows. They recorded an EP. They went on a couple tours but then Zach moved to NYC. Juels recorded another solo album in 2018. Original lyrics and music full of rich tones that provide a thought provoking, penetrating, and (sometimes) uplifting sound conjuring scenes of love, loss, longing and murder.

Jason (Jay) Byrd has been a professional guitarist, singer, and songwriter since his late teens. After moving to the Washington, DC area in 2001, Jay began crafting songs with a decidedly Americana bent. An award-winning songwriter (NewSong, Mid-Atlantic Songwriting
Contest, Bernard-Ebb Finalist), Jay continues to write and perform original roots-influenced music. His most recent album,
At Home Again, was released in 2022. His previous band, South Rail, has released three EPs, a self-titled debut in 2012,
Stars (2014), produced by Don Was, and Take the Wheel (2018).

Throughout the years with Wavy Train, South Rail and as a solo artist, Jay has opened for Little Feat, Chely Wright, Cary Morin, Don Dixon & Marti Jones, Kevin Gordon, Caroline Rose, Yarn, etc. and has played on the same festivals as String Cheese Incident,
Tom Constanten, Col. Bruce Hampton, Ratdog and Steve Winwood, among many others.
