A company who has a couple restaurants in Columbus will be taking over the restaurant (Old CadillacJacks location). I'm sure they will be more prepared and motivated to get it running and they also have access to many employees that already work for them as well as construction teams to rehab everything. They have years of experience and are already remodeling!!!!! Keep on the lookout!

There's a small water damaged area in one corner. See pic..It's at a rental house I own (I lived in it before I retired from the USAF)

Also the thin metal garage door bent from a wind storm years ago and has been removed. I may end up wanting the door replaced as well.

May need some more work done once tenants move out end of July.

It's a 5 bedroom 2f 2h bath w finished basement almost 3000sf in Mad River school district.

I may sell it as well!

Just an update for people who are wondering about the restaurant/bar progress.
It on a temporary pause....for the moment..while we work through some personal stuff.

Wife had an extremely bad car accident Friday. Just got back from the tow yard and after seeing the vehicle, talking to police and responders...They say there is literally no scientific way that can explain why she should be alive or not paralyzed, not to mention walking around today. They said she should be dead or paralyzed and if she'd have hit another vehicle....same fate for them.
Needless to say our minds are more focused on life...kids...memories...the future...instead of getting a restaurant ready.

It's like she (and I), has a mental cloud/PTSD after realizing how fast everything can end. She doesn't even want to talk about it yet. She couldn't live with herself if someone else could have been harmed even if it was a "no fault accident" She's a nurse at the VA Hospital so that adds to the emotional part for her.

I'll still be in there working to clean, make it better, etc....

But in the time being if anyone knows someone looking for a very nice 5000sf restaurant to buy...let me know. Otherwise I'll keep working on it until we feel we got the mentality to do the restaurant biz full force. Gotta take care of family right now.

For people who are asking me why I'd rather not lease the restaurant again....especially NOT to people who don't have the experience, operating capital and WORK ETHIC (everyone "has the world's best food, best game plan, best menu, best employees and the cleanest operators around or so they promise! Lol)....HERES WHY:

I felt the urge to rearrange the cook line equipment....BUT after moving the equipment, me and my wife spent the last 3 hours hand scraping the floors under the equipment and scraping hard waxy grease off the walls because lazy fu #$ers didn't even have the pride in their work and business to bend down and pick up any, sweep or mop under the equipment that is easily accessible! Wow!
Sad that some people have this little work ethic.

Can you imagine how filthy their own homes must be? And if they're not like that in THEIR home, it's just proves they don't give a s**t about other people's stuff! Disgusting!

The 1st 2 pics below are AFTER we picked up about 10 dried up chicken wings, 6 dish rags, BBQ sauce bottle lids and oh yea, a du-rag and a pair of ear buds! 😠

Wife is off work this next week at the VA Hospital. (Not that this is anyones main focus or concern in their daily life, just letting people who were asking know whats up, Lol) Gonna take a few days and discuss exactly whats best for us with either operating the restaurant/bar (Me working it everyday), or other ideas that have been discussed.

Now that it's been cleaned up, new floors, stage etc, I've been getting random messages from people interested in "possibly" buying it, owner finance offers, trades for houses, other property and exotic cars, partnership proposals, leases and even a franchise restaurant (bbq) wanting to discuss a lease.

Not sure I'd want to lease again since people seem to "use it up" and walk away after wear and tear, not caring for it as thier own and leaving a mess while still owing THOUSANDS of dollars on their lease and utilities etc that i get stuck with. That's more stressful and financially devastating than working it myself! I'm sure some of you property rental owners know that first hand! 😆. Ive saved every penny I made in the USAF to buy this, don't want to think my sacrifices would be wasted by a bad decision! It was just inspected and ready to open!! (Liquor license transfer takes a while though)

So much to think about as I bought the place aprox 6 yrs ago to help a couple friends out. Not to operate myself, even though I'm capable of it, trained in business operations and I love seeing people happy, especially when they choose to spend their hard earned money in a place I'm involved in!! It's almost 5000sf and one of the largest (non franchise) kitchen, bar, restaurant in the area, so it's a lot of "work" for me to take on!

Being retired from the USAF and wanting to travel and visit my kids in Vegas, Austin instead of working myself to death was a goal I had! 😆

I'm leaning towards opening it myself unless someone with a great idea comes up with the funds to buy or operate it PROFESSIONALLY.

As soon as I come up with a game plan, I'll definitely let anyone who's interested, know! I definitely appreciate people's concern for what they feel FAIRBORN needs here and want to do what's best. Everything isn't about money with me...a cool place for everyone has a worth of its own!!
