In honor of Alaska Day, we’re opening up the Taproom on Monday 10/19 from 11-9pm, and we’ll tap a special pin of our German Gose, conditioned on fresh Alaskan blueberries and lemon zest. We hope that while you’re sipping it you’ll start singing to yourself…”eight stars of gold on a field of blue…”

Ask and you shall receive! A fresh batch of our delicious kettle-soured German Gose is now pouring in the Taproom. This lightly tart and refreshing wheat ale has earned a regular spot on our summer menu for the past few years, but even through the cooler months, we hear constant requests for MORE. We’re listening, and we are here to serve!

This unique style was first brewed in the early 13th century in Goslar, Germany. Our interpretation is kettle-soured with raw pilsner malt for 24 hours, then the wort is boiled for an hour and fresh cracked coriander is added during the whirlpool. After fermentation by a neutral ale yeast, himalayan pink salt is added. Sour, citrus, and salt - it’s an amazing flavor combination.

We have glass pours in the Taproom, plus cans and kegs ready to head out the door.

As a b**r style, British Golden Ale first come on the scene in England in the 1980’s, developed to bridge the gap between the light la**rs that many British drinkers were gravitating to and traditional English Bitters. Lighter in color than Bitter, with more pronounced hop character and a refreshing finish, Golden Ale offered something new while maintaining the character of traditional British ale.

Built on a foundation of English Maris Otter malted barley, HooDoo British Golden Ale shines with delicious malt complexity, balanced bitterness, and a refreshing hop finish. Flavors of toasted bread, biscuit, and a light nuttiness complement the bright citrus and herbal notes of Centennial and Cascade hops. One of our favorite English ale yeast strains rounds things out with delicate fruity esters and a soft, malty finish.

We hope you enjoy HooDoo’s take on this modern British style! British Golden Ale is on tap in the Taproom today and available to-go in 5-gallon kegs and growlers.

And just like that, the sun has set on Oktoberfest 2026.

We had a blast this year, and we hope you did as well. Whether you rode the HooDoo ChooChoo, caught brats in your mouth, cut a pretzel, played trivia, yodeled at the top of your lungs, held a stein until your arm gave out, or just hung out with us in the Taproom, we’re happy you joined us.

We couldn’t have made it happen this year without our amazing food vendors, the UAF CTC Culinary Arts Program, the Alaska Railroad, Jade Nelson (our 2026 Oktoberfest artist extraordinaire), the musicians who played for us in the Bier Hall, and the HooDoo Crew behind the scenes.

But don’t set your steins down yet, Fairbanks— we’ve got plenty of our Oktoberfest L***r left for you, and more good times in store.
