Bluewater takes spirits as far FORWARD as they can go. Sailing provides us with our inspiration, as the graceful interaction of wind and water moves our spirits. In fact, it all began aboard a sailboat, when founders John & Jess distilled their first batch while anchored in a solitary Puget Sound cove. Having opened a bottle of mediocre wine, John poured it into a stockpot, flipped the lid upside down and placed ice on top of the lid. The brandy distillation proceeded slowly with a cup placed in the middle of the pot to collect the drops of alcohol. It worked, but a valuable lesson was learned: your finished spirit is only as good as your starting base. Our new distillery at the waterfront port in Everett, WA boasts retail sales, wholesale production, limited edition spirits - and, our favorite - sail-in access.
