Ready for PorchFest? We are! It’s one of, if not THE BEST, day downtown. The neighborhood just comes alive with 43 artists playing the various historic porches on Saturday with an afterparty Sunday. Definitely not to be missed! We’ll be CLOSED Saturday (FOMO) but catch us out and about all afternoon.

Our pals The Chugs host an absolutely banger show at porch 10, and we’ve once again made Arcademie/Chugs koozies. The only way to get them is to swing in to Arcademie before Saturday or chance it Saturday evening on the Chugs porch.

Come in and we’ll also hook you up with a chance to win a pair of tickets to RaptorCon the following weekend. Which is also the Victory Film Festival, and we’re a VFF sponsor and host their official afterparty on 9/12

It’s 1,200 F outside, but this is the time of year for one of our Farmcademie, our growing operation, faves. The text today said simply, “They’re ready.” We knew exactly what “they” were - mature, red jalapeños that have stayed on the vine long after they’d usually be picked. We don’t want the green ones, or even the green one’s with streaking cracks. No, we wait until they’re bright red, have faced the infernal Indiana heat, and cracked strong and long. They’re washed and pureed in tequila, then bottled.

For connoisseurs of the spicy margarita, we’re a go-to destination. It’s a fine line between chemical-weapons grade and spicy. The heat lasts just the right amount of time, then gives way to the lime and agave, hanging in the background just enough to tingle the back of your throat.

Roof deck will be nice after dark tonight, perfect place to enjoy one of these seasonal delights. We’ll get a bushel, at most. These aren’t jalapeños you can just go out and buy. Don’t let them go by. Or bye.

Not many people know about Farmcademie, our organic farming operation, that grows a variety of things we use at the bar.

We’re silly with cucumbers at the moment, so this weekend we’re focusing on all the cocktails we make with these Farmcademie wonders.

The Cucumber Lime Gimlet, made with Glendalough botanical Irish gin (it’s not juniper-forward, a really wonderful expression, perfect for the “Gin, no, never!” crowd).

Irish Maid - Tullamore Dew wh***ey, St Germain elderflower liquor, fresh-squeezed lemon juice.

And two we created…

The Tsukiji Mule, muddled cucumber, nori-infused vodka (that’s the type of seaweed in Miso soup), fresh-squeezed lime juice and FeverTree ginger b**r. Basically a 100 proof cucumber roll, for the sushi crowd. It’s a delight

The “Day Gone By,” vodka or gin, it’s up to you, and fresh squeezed citrus. We’ve probably served 10,000 of these since we opened ours doors, and they all start with muddled cucumber.

Cucumber weekend’s underway! The roof deck’s open, the games are always on free play, and the kitchen’s serving up the hits. Come see us!

For out part we’ll have the usual fare of delicious drinks, tasty food, AC, vintage games, seating, DORA cups, and more that we can even think of at the moment. Can’t wait to see new and familiar faces!
