On May 30, VFW Post 10980 performed a Day of Service by providing litter pick-up on Miracle Drive. While the litter crew picked up litter, Donna Herndon folded flags for our next flag retirement ceremony. Thank you to all of our volunteers!

On April 21, Donna Herndon (Auxiliary member and Creator of Wreaths For Warriors) donated $500.00 to VFW Post 10980 Auxiliary from the proceeds of her wreath sales to be used for the veterans at The Victory House in Walterboro. On May 20, Donna was able to utilize the money to fulfill the requests of Victory House with the snacks and art supplies that they desired. She and her veteran husband, Richard Herndon were able to visit the veterans, one of which was VFW Post 10980 lifetime member veteran Buddy Griffin.

On Memorial Day VFW Post 10980 honored its fallen with a ceremony in our canteen. Senior Vice Commander, Larry Bridwell, led the observance. We were blessed with many people in attendance in remembrance of those who died for our freedom. Thank you to all who came out to honor our fallen.

Our volunteers at VFW Post 10980 were out today for donations for poppies in remembrance of those who gave all. They will be out again tomorrow morning from 9 to 3 in Eutawville, Holly Hill, and Santee.

Attention:

Today The Bunker at VFW Post 10980 will be closing at 5:00 pm so that all can attend visitation with the family for Mrs. Barbara Griffin at Avinger Funeral Home. We will reopen tomorrow (Wednesday, March 4) at 1:00 pm.

The family will receive friends today (March 3) at Avinger Funeral Home, 2274 Eutaw Road, Holly Hill, SC, 29059, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Services will be held privately by the family.
